Silhouette Halloween Peanuts card

I used some fun vintage Peanuts stamps along with a teeny Mama Elephant kitty and a Lawn Fawn embossed sentiment to make this 'spooky' shaker card. I also used the cut file Happy Halloween Square Frame from the Silhouette Store for the top of my card.  The background paper is some older Authentique paper and I used a clear stamp liner for my window because that's all I had! I also used some of the Darice adhesive strips to make my shaker and that worked slick. I added silver stars in my shaker.

Just love my vintage stamps and happy to have had some time to use them this Halloween.

Linus and Snoopy Fast Foward!

A quick little card with one of "late night harvest shopping spree stamps" LOL.  Not much time or energy to craft, so I take a few minutes here and there and catch some good sales going on. Makes me happy :)!

This stamp(Snoopy/Linus Happy Birthday) actually has the words Happy Birthday below it, but I didn't want to use them, so I left that part off.  I used some MME Fly a Kite paper with a few MME enamel dots along with some rows of twine in the center! Done!

Off to bed, see you soon!

Key To My Heart-Snoopy MOJO276

Had to make up this quick Valentine using Snoopy! I was tickled last week to be one of the winners on the MOJO MONDAY sketch challenge  #275 with this card-so I thought I would make up this week's sketch real quick-and I mean real quick. I needed to be out the door like a half hour ago LOL!

I printed the sentiment with my Silhouette...it looks a little 3D with the colors it printed(not intentional either LOL).  I also cut the key with my Silhouette. Snoopy was cut with nestie circles and added on popdots.

Okay-I am off and out of here for now!  Thanks for popping in!

WOYW?W #157!

A quick post tonight for What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday! A late night and I am kind of droopy!

One thing you can see in the background is Elton John on my TV-singing to the Queen. Boy would it be fun to be in England and see this celebration in person! Need to finish this quick post so I don't miss Paul McCartney too. Sooooo...off and running.

You can see a Peanuts stamp that was gifted to me by my longtime HMouse stamp friend Eve. I made a quick card with elements cut with my Silhouette with files from the Silhouette Store.  I wanted to add Snoopy on one of those wobble thingies, but drats...I can not for the life of me find them! I am sure it will come to me just as I am drifting off to nighty nighty (or maybe in the middle of the night  LOL)
Of course...in honor of Queen Elizabeth's celebration today, Snoopy is driving on the "English" side of the road, or as we in the USA refer to-the wrong side of the road!

Off to finish watching the celebration!  Take a few minutes and hop over and visit Julia at The Stamping Ground.

What's On Your Workdesk ? Wednesday #135 The Peanuts Gang

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday! #135

Well, this week my desk is much cleaner! I have been working on some serious de-junking and cleaning of my crafty space this week.  You can see I have been working on the card posted below. My beloved Oregon Ducks college football team won the Rose Bowl yesterday...Whooopppeeeee! I know my friend Kecia won't be so happy about that...so I will have to make sure she gets a peek of this lovely yellow and green celebration card LOL! Hey Kecia!
Lots of little snoops to see on my desk this week as there is a little more order to be had. I am still trying to figure out where I want to place everything on my new desk, so it will probably look different every week for a while...decisons, decisions! If you look carefully, you can see  a one eyed Mickey Mouse (where did that eye go?) and a bottle of  etching cream ---I am going to try to etch a mug-any tips for a first timer?
I made this Peanuts gang card in celebration of the Oregon Ducks win at the Rose Bowl yesterday....GO DUCKS!  HA! That does sound a little funny to anyone over the pond...I mean DUCKS? Normally not too ferocious right?---- but I tell ya, our OREGON DUCK football team was ferocious yesterday! WOOHOO!

I started out getting ready to make this image into a New Years card, and finally decided to go with Yellow and Green, Oregon school colors! I made a few additions to the image (adding an O to a shirt and sleeve stripes on Lucy's shirt and and little Nike swoosh on Charlie Browns shirt(oops I mean Chip Kelly's shirt!)  Perfect timing to dig this stamp out of hiding!

Well, it is late and I am off to beddy bye! If you get a few minutes, stop by and say Hello to Julia over at The Stamping Ground and see what everyone has sitting on their work desk. Always some fun surprises each week!

I am tickled to have this card listed on the Favorites of the Week ending  January 8th, 2012 over at Splitcoast Stampers  HERE!...WOO HOO!

What's On Your Workdesk #107?

Whatcha Doin?  Getting ready for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?, that's what!  I don't know what whirlwind hit my desk, but by golly, it is trashed. I have been trying for 2 days to finish this dang Peanuts card and could not find paper that made me  happy...I cut up so many pieces before I finally settled on this fun My Minds Eye lime twist-Fly A KITE  DP.

I love this Peanuts stamp(Snoopy alert!!!! Peanuts stamps are on sale- 10% off through June 30th)...love the sort of ho hum look on the faces of Charlie Brown and Linus...like they are waiting for something to happen...totally bored-a perfect fit for this cute little sentiment don'tcha think? LOL! I used the June 2011 SFYTT (Sketch For You To Try) over at i{heart}2stamp

Below you can see part of the mess I made trying to finish this card (there are piles of paper that must be put away)...so now I need to go clean it up and finish watching THE VOICE.   I am also adding this card for the Crazy4Challenges challenge this week which is to add twine, floss or string to your creation.

Take a few minutes and check out Julia's blog and see a  "quad zillion"  other workdesks today....I tell you, I have made some of the best cyber friends ever!

What's On Your Workdesk #103-Appreciate What Is

Yep, the tidy desk did not last tonight. This is how I got up and left it so that I could go type up this post for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.  As you can see, I have several stamps inked and projects in process. Really, it will be a quick clean up though...it just looks bad now.  If you want to snoop some great nestie storage, I have a post HERE that I add too when I find a new idea. I keep saving storage solutions for ribbon and paper to do a post of them as well...one of these days maybe!

I did manage to use one of my new Peanuts Stamps you have seen on my desk the last several weeks.  I made one ugly one and one that I liked LOL. Not even going to show you the ugly one!!! Not sure what I will do with it.... maybe we should have a challenge week on WOYWW that shows off an ugly or rejected project...that might be fun......but then again...

I am off to watch the finale of Dancing With the Stars...will Kirstie pull it off???...I am thinking Hines should be the winner-but it is a close competition!

Enjoy your Wednesday! Next week is the big 2 Year Anniversary of WOYW?W!!! Should be a fun one!

Oregon Ducks Football---GO DUCKS!!!

Monday at 5pm is the big BCS national playoff game for college football! Our very own Oregon Ducks play the Auburn Tigers. Woo Hoo...I even had to ask my Stamping group if they would move the monthly stamping meeting scheduled for Monday night so I could stay home and root for my DUCKS.  Now I am not much of a sports fanatic, but as my oldest daughter went through college, she was on the cheerleading squad. U of O used to give a parents pass to the games, and I tell you...nothing like a football game at Autzen Stadium!  LOUD and just tons of fun to watch the game and the fans...I was hooked.

So...I had to make a card to cheer on probably the only sports team that I will sit still long enough to watch! I love the spirit of it all!

Hmmm...I might even have to send this card to Chip Kelly!(the coach LOL) For some reason I don't think Chip is in to stamping LOL!  I used a Snoopy image that was gifted to me, hand drew the banner, used some U of O DP, and cut out those cute little footballs with my cricut and some fun textured  DP by Creative Imaginations. Cartridge used was Boys will be Boys. The words Go Ducks were cut in my Cricut/SCAL program.

Snoopy and the banner are both up on dimensionals.

I spent most of the afternoon in my craft room today...so much fun. I have a few more creations to show you over the next few days. It sure did feel good to be back to crafting!

I have some milestone blog candy coming soon too. Watch for my visits to reach 100,000 in the next month or so. I have a fun stash of good treats to share with you all!

Don't forget to join in to the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge. You still have over a week to enter your art...I would so love to see you all jump in and play along!  Lots of prizes offered for this challenge-New Beginnings!!!!

I am going to enter this in the Sentimental Sundays Challenge, anything with wings.

Yes, I am still around my stamper friends...just not too motivated at the moment. I did see this easy sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping blog FTL108.  I thought I could probably handle this sketch today...although I tell you , it was hard not to add some ribbon and spiders and fun Halloween embellies! I did not want those CAS stampers to kick me out though LOL!

Here is the sketch:

Road trip ahead!

A quick post...already a late night!

I made this card to send to my cousin. She is heading to the Oregon Music Jamboree with our group next weekend! This is an annual country music festival I have been attending for the last 10 years or so! Looking forward to getting away for a few days!

My cousin drives around town  in a  cute little red Volkswagon just like Snoopy and Woodstock, so she is always easy to spot!

I used the sketch that was created for The Taylored Expression blog hop here.

Hey, check out the fun new blogger feature at the bottom of this post. Not that I am real techie, (but I try) ---- you can click one of the buttons and share this post through email, facebook, twitter etc! How fun!!! WOYWW? and a Peanuts card!

Here we go again...time to join the crafters from across the ocean for another What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. I actually made the quick card below and then did a quick clean up so I can show you a couple of fun garage sale finds for 25 cents each!!! What a deal...Can you see the neat baby stamp, some made up quilt like little yo yo fabric type embellishments, and some salt shakers I am thinking of putting my glitter in. I want to find some older type shakers in different heights and shapes, and older for a pretty look. I love old, "antiquey" things.

Speaking of old things, I finally got my replacement copic holder, but was sad to not have my fun old pop crate, so I moved it right next to me and am still up in the air as what to put in it. Right now I have some SU punches, but would certainly love your suggestions!

my old pop crate needs a new purpose....and my fun garage sale items

A quick card I made tonight for my sweetie. My new Peanuts stamp...this stamp just looks like me with my hands on my hips when my sweetie watches wayyyy to much TV with my dog!You know how it feels like you are talking to wall sometimes??????

I used the sketch from Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge #20 this week and kept it very simple ...ready for bed!

Hidden Message Valentine-Snoopy Mail

Hidden message heart  card... this could be the front or the back...depending on the direction of your patterned paper...I like the fold side for the front...so next time I will cut the pattern upside down. (ahh the things you notice when you see the actual pictures LOL)

Fold in the sides to the center of the heart

fold down the top of the heart and then fold up the point and hold with a clip

 Open card

I have had this card bumping around inside my head for weeks, I just had to find time to figure it out!

I cut out the heart with my cricut cartridge, cutting the heart shape at 6 inches...but that means 6 inches high and about 7 inches wide. (still figuring out the sizing on these cricut cartridge things!)  I then folded in the sides to the center. Then fold the  top of the heart down and  the bottom section of the heart up to the top... and the point is held  with the fun little" clippy thingy"  This is hard to explain, but easier to understand if you look at the pictures above.

FYI: (To get the right folds and score lines, I cut a practice heart, figured out where I wanted my final scores and then scored on my Scor-Pal so that everything would be straight.)

For the image and sentiment piece on the inside, I just measured the inside square after I had  folded the heart. In this case it was roughly 3 x 2.  This little card just called for Snoopy to come out of his dog house don't you think?

Hmmm..one thing to take into consideration if you make this card...use double sided paper and depending on which side you want to be the front...you might want to cut the design upside down. On this card the side that shows all the folds is upside down...(just noticed that) and the other side is right side up...take your pick.

I would love to see your hidden message card should you make one too...leave me a message below!

FYI #2: 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge is on hiatus for a while. It may return at a later date.

I'm this week's Guest Designer for Our Creative Corner!!

I am so excited to be asked by this month's host, Jenny Gropp, to be this week's Guest Designer  over at Our Creative Corner's blog! What a honor to get to play along with such talent...I'm just tickled!!!!

If you have been around long, you all know I have been an admirer of Jenny's blog foreverrrrrrrr.
To put it simple....she makes good stuff! LOL I truly admire her ability to embellish a card and her wonderful eye for details! You must peek at her blog as well as all the other "Big Girl" stampers from OCC( as I call them) LOL!  Thanks so much Jenny for the invite!

I had to tell all my friends at work that I was asked to play with the "Big Girls" LOL!!

I hope you can take the time to browse around my blog and maybe join this easy challenge!

Oh yeah...Now a little bit of card info:

Who doesn't love Snoopy? (especially at Christmas time). On this card, Snoopy is cut out and added again with dimensionals. I cut out some of the individual trees from the BoBunny DP to add also. This DP is so fun, it would be hard to make an ugly card with it...sort of like SU!'s Parisian Breeze...lovely paper.

I am gone on vacation for a few days and this post is scheduled, but I will check in if I can. I even have a wee little piece of blog candy to post sometime the first of next week when I get home, nothing big, but it will sure make your cards "purty".

Here is the posting directly from the OCC blog:

3 Clovers Thursday Challenge 39---No RED or GREEN

Happy Holidays!

Where the heck have I been you ask?  This is my busy crafting season and that does not include much stamping unfortunately. I am getting ready to bake cookies and start my annual wood craft or sewing project (see post here for 2008 projects)(past wood projects here and sewing projects here) and also finishing a quilt for my grandson Cole ( a Christmas project I started  last year..hmmmm.)
And then I have to get all my Christmas trees decorated. Now,  I don't even come close to Suzanne Dean...she puts up 10 I think! Crazy girl...I only have 4...

This is my card for this week's 3 Clover's Thursday Challenge. Kerry asked us to make a Christmas card without the standard Christmas colors of red or green.  I chose to use this cute Peanuts stamp and used basic blue and brown.

Doesn't Charlie Brown and Linus look like  they are wearing little Carhartt coats? (that's a brand of brown work clothes for those that aren't familiar with the name).  I glittered the snow to add lots of sparkle. I used a fun sketch for this card...but darned if I can find where it is now...brain cramp! I also used my new little bow maker. It is not a Bow Easy, but a different brand, but it looks exactly like a Bow Easy and only cost $2 in a closeout sale...what a deal! I used Sharon Johnson's Bow Easy tutorial here to figure it out! I am always challenged when it comes to pretty bows, so I used this new little toy and boy am I pleased!

I hope you all can join us this week and make a Christmas/Holiday card without the usual colors of red and green. The DT samples are quite fun this week, so go take a peek and be inspired!

3CTC-Fall or Halloween Treat Holder

Make a treat holder for Fall or Halloween! What fun over at 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge this week! Should be some great treat holders for you all to peek at this week!

This was a project I meant to make last Halloween, but darned if I didn't run out of time. I did make these cute pumpkin bag treat holders though. They are both creations I found on Martha Stewart's site. You can read her directions on how to make these Witches Brooms HERE. I also found a great tutorial with pictures HERE. (sorry my pic does not show the whole "broomstick", but I had to crop so you didn't see the pile of paper plates on top of the microwave LOL)

I have a lot of random Halloween stamps, so this gives me a chance to use a lot of them. I don't get too fussy as the kids will just rip them open in two seconds anyway.

I knew I was going to make these this year, so my sweetie cut these branches for me in the spring, so I had them cut and ready to go!

Each bag takes the following supplies:

1. 2 paper sacks-I used sacks about 6 1/2 inches tall, small treat size. If you use too big of a sack...it will hold a load of candy. This bag holds about 8 minature type candy bars/bags. You will fill one bag and set it inside of a shredded bag.

2. Twine

2. Branch or a big pretzel rod works equally well. Should be about 12 inches long or so.

4. Lots of good treats!

This image was gifted to me. I believe it is a Darcie's stamp...so cute...wish I had more!

Sally the Witch by Stampabilites

Spooky Snoopy by Stampabilites and a Studio G/ Michaels $1 stamp

Studio G/$1 Michaels stamps bought last year.

Go take a peek at what the other stampers created and maybe get a headstart for Halloween!

From Courtney's Closet Challenge #49

oh...what a fun challenge this week at From Courtney's Closet! Although I don't have any Hello Kitty type stamps...I did follow the color scheme and had to include those fun clouds on my card too! You must follow the link and see Libby's wonderful card this week...it is really creative and put together with a lot of thought!

I made the clouds by using my SU! scalloped punch and punching part of the cloud and then hand cutting the rest myself...I think that worked pretty slick.

I have been saving this Snoopy stamp for the perfect inspiration...looks like I finally found it! Looks like Snoopy and Woodstock and having a toast with ice cream cones doesn't it? I drew in the grass with my copic multi-liner (I LOVE these pens), added the clouds on pop dots and the Martha Stewart ice cream cones too.

3 Clovers Thursday Challenge #19-Where are you from ?

This was a fun challenge this week at 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge! The challenge...Where are you from? You are challenged to make a card that represents the city, state or country you are from.

Well...that was easy...You all know I work in one of the cherry capitals of the world LOL! I live on the Columbia River right on the Oregon and Washington border in the USA. The area is named the Columbia River Gorge. It is known for it's beautiful mountains (the most famous in the area of course is Mt St Helens...the volcano that blew it's top almost 30 years ago!) It is also known for it's beautiful rivers, waterfalls, hiking, skiing, biking ...you know...all that outdoorsy stuff. There is year round snow skiing on Mt Hood,(funny video link here) a mountain just a few minutes from my hometown.

One end of the Columbia River Gorge is beautiful and lush and the other end is dry with plains of wheat fields(and now wind turbines to generate electricity). It pretty much has it all. It is also known as one of the premier windsurfing areas in the world! Why you ask?

The wind! It blows and blows and blows here! It is always windy by afternoon here. It is just a fact of life....

We have lots of fruit trees in my hometown and in other towns around us. There are mainly cherry trees, but some pear, peach and apple trees as well as many new grape vineyards.

Yummy cherries...the real thing!

About the card:

This brings me to my card this week.

Of course I had to feature a cherry tree...what else LOL? The other thing I wanted to represent on my card was the wind...I don't know if you can tell it or not, but I put the blue sky piece through the swirly cuttlebug folder to depict the swirly wind...and look...it caught poor Woodstock and is blowing him around. Snoopy is jumping for joy because 2009 looks to be a great crop for cherries!

I cut out the cherry tree and ground free hand and sewed them on the blue cuttlebugged sky. I had kind of reverse sponged the sky, using blue cardstock and white ink to make the clouds.
I then added the little flower brads, the sentiment and Snoopy and Woodstock.

Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip and Wasabi, Cherry DP by DCWV, Brown and green print DP by SU!

Ink:Chocolate Chip and Black ink pad by Stamps by Judith (it stamps really black and is great for watercoloring also), Woodstock colored by a copic pen.

3 Clovers Thursday Challenge- Snoopy Paper Piecing

This week's challenge at 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge is Paper Piecing. I had such a grand time with this challenge. I made this card, ripped it apart, and then started over again. Another one of those cards that bits and pieces came to me in my sleep. I wasted some darn good cardstock to get the effect I wanted.

I started using a sketch challenge, didn't like that, then didn't like the DP I used so ripped it apart again.

This card was inspired by the work of Michelle B at JustPaintingAround. She creates some of the best scene cards I have ever "scene". You really should go browse her blog...tons of fun cards to see there! She does have some tutorials mixed in her posts on how she creates her scenes (sure wish I would have followed her suggestions as I am sure it would have been much easier that how this little card was born LOL!)

The umbrella and sun as well as the water are all pieced with Stampin Up cardstock or DP. The image was colored with copics.

Now, if only I was sitting on a beach somewhere with Snoopy!

From Courtney's Closet Challenge #39-Hey

HEY-THANKS! You all know how much I love Snoopy. Well, here he is, back to play in From Courtney's Closet Challenge #39! Now-- I didn't have a scottie dog stamp...but Snoopy is my main "Dawg"! The sketch is from Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #66.

Inside is finished with a strip of plaid cardstock as well as an thin piece of pierced real red cardstock. I stamped THANKS on the inside.

I made this look with my scalloped nestie. I used a tip that Allison at Stampin When I Can showed a while back. I fell in love with the pinked edge nesties, but golly I have to pick carefully what I buy. Allison showed this tip that solved my dilemma. I got the pinked look by cutting a classic scalloped nestie circle. I then popped it out of the nestie, rotated just a wee bit, (not even 1/4 of an inch) and taped it in place to keep it from moving. I ran it through my big shot again and came out with this fun edge! Viola...my pinked edge! I wish I could find Allison's posting to show you...maybe she will read this and show me the way to her link!

ETA: HERE is the link to make your own "pinked" edge! Thanks Allison!
