You're a Keeper

You're a KEEPER!

Yes, you are a keeper. I adore this card design by Snap Dragon Snippets.  I always look for fun fishing related cards as my Father in Law is an avid fisherman. I made these cards for Father's Day-cutting them with my Silhouette.

I made a couple different versions just to see which papers I would like best. He is always so appreciative of the special efforts I make with his fishy cards and never throws them away! My Dad is the same, he has all of his lined up on his dresser. Dad's are great!

Hope you enjoyed this fun creation!

Father's Day Card and Wood Project

Father's Day Projects 2018

I made this card on my wonderful and rare jammie day last week. The pattern is designed by Lettering Delights and was purchased from the Silhouette Store HERE.  I always call my Dad Papa Bear-so this is just perfect! The bear and tree were cut with my Silhouette and the sentiment was print and cut.

I made this sign for him too.  The chalkboard base is leftover from a past Christmas project I made and worked perfectly for my wooden letters and tools.  I cut everything out with a scroll saw, and then primed and painted them. (I let him choose the colors- Orange is his favorite color)  I used my Silhouette to cut the patterns out of vinyl for this project (Simple Tools).  I used a 'shaky' font for his name because I knew my cutting would be shaky anyway.(smart thinkin'!) This is not as easy as it looks, but I hope to get some time after cherry harvest to get a little practice in!  If you are on instagram check out @sawdustjunkies , @thenorthandpine, @lushlemonco  just to name a few of the  wonderful scroll saw artists!

Father's Day Fishing Favor Box

Father's Day Favor Box

I made this favor box for one of the Dad's for Father's Day.  I used some Recollections (Michaels) kraft and green cardstock for the main body and some Kaisercraft  Post Card papers for the band. The brim is about 5.5 inches wide and the box inside is about 3 inches wide. It was very easy to put together and fun to decorate with all the little fishing baubles! Now to fill the inside box with treats!

Unhinge the tabs and pull out the box to fill with candy!

I have a fun Father's Day card I made for my Papa Bear coming soon-just need to get a picture. I actually got a jammie day/craft day last week to make these...oh I miss those days!

Thanks for stopping by!

Father's Day Projects

Just popping in to show you a couple Father's Day projects I made this year.  Not much crafting time these days, but the Dad's look forward to their specially made projects so I can not disappoint!

This is a big box-7.25 x 3 finished size and holds a lot of Dad's favorite candy! The lid pulls off to allow you to fill it with all the favorite goodies that Dad likes.  I really think this is a project that could be resized smaller and come out just as cute.

3D Fishing Tackle Box designed by Lori Whitlock

I adore how this pops in to a cube when you pull it out of the sleeve!!! I can't wait to make another one of these-in fact I have one in process already.
Note: I did add extra layers to all the matting  pieces, but that's just my thing :).

Hope you enjoyed my projects today!

Father's Day Fisherman-Silhouette Challenges

Silhouette Challenges

Challenge #37 "Anything Goes"
Starts: May 1
Ends: May 31

Doesn't this character tickle you? I just grinned when I first saw this cut file created by Snapdragon Snippets and purchased through the Silhouette Store.  My Sweetie's Father is quite a Fisherman-so this card was just perfect for his Father's Day Card. He's one of those guys that watches the mailbox for his special card! I just love that!

I used some SU! craft for the base of this card and then The Paper Loft Hooked on Fishing 6x6 patterned paper.  The fun part of this card was searching through all my scrap drawers for just the right color of browns and greens to use.  It has a gazillion pieces, but was so fun to put together!

I couldn't stop at Mr.Fisherman, I had to make his  'wife' too. Meet Gardener Gal. I made her for Fisherman's wife's birthday! These cards look so fun sitting side by side. They are rather large...A7 size. about 5.5 x 7.25, so they take a special envelope.

I used a yellow base and different pieces from my scrap drawers for Gardener Gal. A fun part of these files was deciding which pieces to add pop dots too..such fun dimension!

There are a whole series of designs like this, so you will probably see more down the road!

I am entering these in the following challenges:

Backyard Boss-- Art Impression Stamp

Doesn't this "Boss" look like he is on a mission to find that very last leaf and blow it away with his powerful machine?  Too funny!

Actually, I used a leaf blower last weekend to clean off my deck and sidewalks...and I am in love!!! That is one wonderful machine!

I used a tree card file from the Silhouette store for my backdrop, and then added the sentiment  "The Backyard Boss" at the top with pop dots. Notice the O on his hat...for Oregon Ducks!!!

Tip: when cutting out your image, turn your image(paper) instead of 'steering' with your scissors. You have so much more control that way.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Art Impression Gordon Golfer-Father's Day

I had so much fun making this card!

I enlarged the little golf cart from a small embellishment piece on a box card purchased from the Silhouette Store. I did an offset of the cart on my Silhouette to make the card base. I also cut a piece of cloud paper to adhere to the front of the card base. I also cut a piece of green "grass" with a  my Lawn Fawn hill die to mimic a rolling golf course green!  The golf cart was added on pop dots and then Mr. Gordon was added on top of the card on pop dots as well.  I love Gordon's stylin' golf attire-don't you?

Inside is the companion sentiment that comes with the set--- Always golf with extra socks, in case you get a hole-in-one!

Father's Day Box Card

A quick post before I am out the door to work(cherry harvest has begun!)

I made this card for my Sweetie's Dad-he is quite the fisherman! This is another box card from Lori Whitlock--- Fishing Box Card  (purchased from the Silhouette Store)!  I used some special patterned paper from The Paper Loft named Hooked on Fishing.  I have linked up the paper that I found online-but I bought mine at a convention.

And dang if it doesn't look like the fish are swimming upside down LOL! We have tricky fish here in Oregon LOL!

I love that it folds flat and fits in a standard A2 envelope!

Off I go-enjoy your summer Father's Day!

Creations by AR Celebrating Father's Blog Hop

I am going to show off two fun new templates today...so very fun to create!

I made this template to copy what my Dad's chair looks like with his favorite things near him *recliner chair...a blankey, his doggie and of course what man does not have a TV remote control glued in their hand??? I cut the word  "Dad" with my Silhouette, and made the blankey by fringing a piece of upholstery fabric. I also added little brown beads on the bottom of each corner for 'feet' on the chair.
And the surprise inside...the bottom of the chair pulls out and is a little gift box. I filled this box with pieces of his favorite candy! Yum!!!

A special template created by Adela to honor her Papa.  I made up the trunk and added a cute little memory mini album inside. Just a simple accordian album using matching  papers to pop inside the trunk and fill with special pictures.
the words on the dp fit oh so perfect!
a peek inside
the set
the mini album with the clasp open

I used the lock for a clasp on the mini album
I took the fun little lock piece from the trunk template and  used it  as a closing clasp for the mini album too. As always, everything was cut out with my silhouette.

For a chance to win one of these templates, all you need to do is leave a comment. The winner will be announced Saturday morning! Make sure to come back and see if you are a winner on my blog or possibly one of my other teamies!

Join the blog hop here and take a few minutes to welcom our new teammates Lori and Lyn!!!
seems I am the last in line!
