Let's pick Sweet Strawberries!

I am sure you can all relate to wanting to craft...but being too tired to craft, but giving it a whirl anyway...Either it works out wonderfully...or it can be a comedy of errors.  In this case the project came together sweetly...but gosh...taking pics on a windy day is no fun. I was trying to keep the background paper in place without "losing my strawberries" LOL.  In fact one of my poor strawberries flew up in the air and blew away-it was that windy.  Good grief ---I never did find it. Luckily my daughter stopped by for a quick visit and helped me hold things down...sorry I had to crop out her designer nails from the pictures, but they were pretty!

Today I am showing off this Sweet Strawberry Thinlet Die Set designed by Lori Whitlock from Inspiration Emporium (she also designed the bushel basket I cut with my Silhouette.) So this project actually turned into a Lori Whitlock lovefest.

This would make such a nice  quick and easy gift to give...it really was very fast!

I thought it was easier to put the brad in all the petals but one and then just tuck in the last petal after sticking the candy treat inside. Worked just dandy!

RED Convertible Sizzix Die- Father's Day

Just had to show off my shiny new convertible!!!

I wish!!!

Actually, my Dad has a Red 1950 Ford Convertible that looks just like this, so I just had to get this Sizzix die to make his Father's Day card! Perfecto!!! I had so much fun cutting one car, that I thought I would cut 2 while I was at it! I had this pretty shiny red paper and also the fun looking chrome paper to use-and it really does look like his car!  We are a classic car family, with each of my brothers owning a classic of some kind too!

I also used my new Taylored Expressions Build A Scene die-On the Road #TE512. I got both of these  die sets from Inspiration Emporium-(they are linked below)

The banner and checkerboard were cut with my Silhouette. The sentiment is from a Penny Black stamp set   ...your way.

Well, I guess I am set for Father's Day cards...whoopee! I do have another Ai Backyard Boss card to show you soon-a great one for the upcoming Father's Day as well.

I hope you enjoy these cards as much as I do!

happy Hoooowl-o-ween!

happy HOWL-oween!!!

Sometimes I get my inspiration from the strangest places! I made this card after seeing an advertisement in the newspaper featuring doggies dressed for Halloween!   I actually had plans to dress these cute little doggies in costume, but my computer is sick-my hard drive crashed and I can not access all the good stuff-like my Silhouette and Silhouette doggie costumes etc. Dang...just imagine that little purple doggie with a little witch hat...
I made the colorful sentiment on my Silhouette(before the crash)-oh so fun!

I used  Doodlebug-Ghouls and Goodies cardstock for my color inspiration and my Sizzix accordian die for the card base , Sizzix Circle Flip -Its #2 for the sentiment and the Paper Smooches Woofers & Tweeters stamp set..

Got to say how much I love this little green critter!

A big thanks to my son for helping me with the pics and post  until my computer is up and running again. I have lots of fun Halloween projects to share with you and I am running out of time...sheesh-it is always something!

Does Running Late Burn Calories?

Does Running Late Count As Exercise?
If so, I burned a lot of calories for your birthday this year!

Hello My Craftin' Friends!  Today I am posting a fun little card using my new Taylored Expressions Running Late stamp set. Everyone that knows me well, knows I am always behind, so this is a great set for me to have in my stash! I am sure it will get used many times LOL!

I colored the image and cut it out with a square nestie. I then added it on to a Sizzix Pop n Cut card base, adding in the sentiment above the image in a partial circle I cut with my Silhouette. I also cut some streamers and a fun little banner with my machine.

For the outside I cut a simple Happy Birthday sentiment with my Silhouette and glued it on. Simple outside, fun and bright on the inside.

I got most of these supplies at Inspiration Emporium.(You can get a 10% discount if you use the code suestamps13)

Thanks for stopping in today-I do hope you are enjoying a nice sunny, spring day-it is about time!

House Mouse and Friends Challenge-Don't Forget!!!

Our super talented Teamie Heather is hosting this Challenge and has chose;

Lost and Found

(eg. Clothing Tag/Bottle Cap/Odd Earring/Cardboard packet/
Foil/Empty jar/Container) Anything you could lose or Find..
just have fun..hehe

Welcome to challenge #165!  Lost and Found seems to be my middle name HA!  I am forever starting a project-loosing a piece and having to cut or color another one. One time I had an image piece lost and I never left my crafty chair. I found the piece months later...stuck to the bottom of my paper cutter!  Good grief!

I had planned another project for today, but when I was looking for the lost sentiment-I found this poor little lost ChristmasMudpie. Seems he got put aside and forgotten during the holiday rush! (like a lot of things!)

I am using my new Sizzix Circle Flip-Its #2  from Inspiration Emporium.  You can see the other card I made with it HERE.
This die cuts the card base and the circles and embellie side papers too. Yep, I dropped one of the circles when I was cutting this card and lost it-and found it later in the day in the middle of my family room-not sure how the heck that happened...but this challenge is making spoooooky things happen hahaha.
.
To finish it all off I added a Silhouette tree decorated with pearls and a couple holly pieces punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

Here you can see the back of the card too.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday-New Schtuff

Hello fellow What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday friends! It was so nice to hear from so many of you last week! Great to be back again this week!

Just showing off some new "schtuff" today!  My new Paper Smooches stamps and Sizzix dies, and my new IKEA shelves!  I have this lovely craft room upstairs, but it seems I do not like to be so far away from the action. So.... I have a huge family room that was calling my name.   I gave the piano to the grandsons and filled the spot with these cubbies full of crafty "schtuff"! Sounds like a hardcore crafter doesn't it? HA!

My desk is much cleaner than last week, but still has lots of paperwork that needs to be completed...and lots of tax paperwork to finish too. So....off to finish this post and work a little bit on that project...my plan is to work a little each night while watching The Voice and American Idol-let's see if I make enough progress that way! Time is running out!

I have 4 more white storage boxes to fold and that will give me more storage. Right now I have one full of Christmas projects, one full of vinyl, one with misc things and one full of copy paper, envelopes-office type stuff.  Pretty darned handy!  On the top of the tall shelf you can see the pretty blown glass vases and dishes my brother buys me each Christmas. I love pretty glass...!

I always love black and yellow together...makes for a very striking card!  I adore the pierced circle around the sentiment...very cool-this little die came with the set too! I love these new Sizzix cutting dies...sure makes for fast and easy cards!   I embossed the yellow paper with a Darice Honeycomb background embossing folder-it doesn't show very well in this picture though.

I had to tie a little bow and add couple little buzzie bees on the back too!

Off to work on unfun "schtuff" now, but had to take a few m inutes to play along with Julia over at STAMPING GROUND!  Check out whats going on over there-it is quite a dandy time!

SFYYT April Mother's Day

I had a nice non-stamping weekend---painting garage doors, weeding flower beds, cleaning refrigerators...all that fun type stuff!  I did manage to whip up a few card sets to give as gifties for Mother's Day. I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT April).

Now I am usually skidding in sideways on this monthly challenge, but hey, I don't feel too bad this time because I actually had these done days ago LOL!

I had this pretty paper pad and just did the mix and match thing.  I love My Minds Eye papers, don't you? These papers are from the Everyday Flair 6x6 paper pad.  I got these fun circle sentiments for a  great deal at the Sizzix both at the last convention I went to.  There are 4 different sentiments, so I made 2 sets of cards for the Moms in my life.

Well, this last minute lizzie is off to link up before I miss the deadline! Thanks for stopping in today!

3 Clover's Thursday Challenge #27-Planes, Trains and Automobiles

This week on 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge #27...Planes, Trains and Automobiles! I really had to look for a good stamp for this challenge. When I rediscovered this retired Stampin Up set while rifling through all my stamps...I knew this would be my choice. It is my Dad's birthday soon and we both have a love for old cars.

This month there was a "cruise in" in our town where old cars drive around town and show off their stuff. Everyone grabs a chair or a sidewalk curb, a Pepsi, and sits in the warm evening air to watch the cars cruise by all evening. My Dad, Mom and I took our lawn chairs this year and had the best time. My Dad and Mom showed me a car similar to what they brought me home from the hospital in..... and many, many more stories of their travels through life! My Dad will be 79 this year and who else can claim they chopped off the top of a 1936 Ford with an ax to make it a convertible and used apple boxes for car seats. I told him to remember that story when any of his grandkids do something stupid...maybe they inheirited a little craziness from him LOL!

And today is my Mom and Dad's 60th anniversary! Holy Toledo!

Not much here to tell about...a pretty simple card. I did dig out my Heidi Swapp edge distresser and used it on several layers of cardstock.

Card Details:

Stamps: Antique Auto's (retired Stampin Up)

Cardstock: SU! Choc Chip and Very Vanilla, DP by Paper Adventures

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa

Misc: Sixxiz alphabet from current SU! catalogue, Nesties, Su! taffeta ribbon, Heidi Swapp edge distresser

From Courtney's Closet Challenge #35-Cole and Gwamma

Keep it simple...I took Libby's "keep it simple" inspiration and made this quick 6 x 6 scrapbook page of one of my fave pictures of little Cole's visit this weekend. I love to hold him while he is sleeping...love to listen to him breath and giggle and sometimes talk in his sleep!

I used a sizzix die for the house (hey, close to the house on Courtney's shirt), computer generated the sentiment, so there really is no stamping here...I see I forgot to add the puffs of smoke coming out of the chimney...but I am too tired to run back up and retake the picture...but I will add the three little puffs of smoke later for a finishing touch.

You can find Libby's From Courtney's Closet #35 Inspiration Challenge HERE!

Cardstock is all Stampin Up.

Snoopy Celebrates 2009!

This is one of the first detailed cards I have made in a couple months...boy was it tough! My stamping brain is not in gear yet...but I am working on it! I started out with a whole different plan for these two images...and ended up pulling out my Martha punch and my Sizzix confetti die.

The only coloring on these images is a little prisma pencil coloring over the sentiment and the grass under Snoopy.

I glued little pieces of confetti all over this DCWV green cardstock(inside the card also). My Sakura Quickie Glue pen came in handy for that!

This card is my 2009 hope for you all...a happy and healthy year! I hope we can all be as happy as this little beagle in his "dance of joy"! This card was inspired by the motivational message on Gina K's blog posting... see her card here.

Inside of card...I was on a mission to use my confetti die...something I have had for YEARS!

Stamps: Dance of Joy by Stampabilities A408C, Count your Rainbows by Inkadinkado

Cardstock: DCWV green for base of the card, S.E.I. DP, SU! Purely Pomegranate, Bashful Blue, Choc Chip

Ink: Memento Black, Prisma's

Misc: SU! ribbon, nesties, Sizzix confetti die, Martha border punch
