Three Clover's Thursday Challenge #35-Nature

I'm back! I had a great time on vacation...vacations are just never long enough! The weather was perfect and the company wonderful!...and not a computer in sight!

The challenge this week at 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge is NATURE. Now I should be thinkin' nice leaves and trees and 'stuff' like that...but this is what I came up with! This Penny Black stamp just tickles me and fit in great with this weeks challenge don't you think? Although you can't tell from the picture, the PB image is 3D with the head and wings layered on dimensionals as well as the circle image.

I added a strip of trees made with an EK Success border punch and a little of the last of my beloved RHR satin ribbon. sniff sniff . The sentiment was made with a Just Rite letter stamper.

Hope you can join us this week!

Card Details:

------------------------------

Stamps: Penny Black Surprise 2890F, Sentiment made with Just Rite stamper, Retired speckle background stamp (SU!)

Cardstock: RHRed, Celery, Garden Green from SU!

Ink: Memento Black, Versafine Black, Copic markers

3 Clovers Thursday Challenge #25-Summer Bounty

The challenge this week on 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge is Super Summery! Make a great "summery" card!

I thought to myself...nothing reminds me more of summer than all the bountiful fruits and veggies growing in everyone's garden!

I used to can all sorts of fruits, veggies, beans etc when my children lived at home. I don't can anymore...except a batch of apricot pineapple jam here and there. I miss that yummy bounty!

On to the details of this super summery card:

I changed the layout of this darn card so many times and really thought about just throwing it out, but in the end...I think I like it...I really like it :-)

This is meant to look like an old time kitchen shelf full of freshly canned goodies. This kitchen wall has the old time flowery wallpaper, ruby red wainscoating and white beadboard on the bottom(made with my scorepal). I think you can see better detail by clicking on the card to enlarge.

I am glad I didn't give up on this card...I think it will be a favorite!

I hope you can join Kerry and all of her team in making this a fun challenge!

-----------------------------

Stamps: Canning Time G316 by Great Impressions, Sentiment is computer generated

Cardstock: More Mustard and Ruby Red, Misc SU! DP also

Ink: Memento Black, Image colored with copics

Misc: EK Success border punch, scorepal, dimensionals for the shelf, SU oval punches

From Courtney's Closet Challenge #46-All Punches

A quick From Courtney's Closet Challenge card.

When I get really tired during harvest...I get stoooo-pid! LOL I have looked at the colors in Little Cupcake's shirt for several evenings and just could not get a good grasp of them...so I just picked out what looked like it would go and went with it. (left out the rusty color in my card)

I have a hard time comprehending things at home or conversations after 14 hours of phones ringing non-stop and people talking at me... by nightfall I should just go to bed.... I really wanted to stamp tonight but I didn't trust myself with markers or inkpads of any kind...I just know I would tatto myself, so I stuck with punches...safe for me tonight LOL! I did venture a little paper piercing and managed that fine...I didn't impale myself at least.

This card is made with SU 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 square punches, Martha border punch and the SUBoho Blossoms punch as well as the little 1/4 circle punch that is retired now. The DP is retired from SU also.

I ran the squares through the bubble cuttlebug folder to give them some texture. I paper pierced with my Tim H ruler. If you don't have one of those...you should!

That's it for tonight...off to bed!

Sweet little cupcake Courtney.

3 Clover's Thursday Challenge #13-May Flower Flip Card

Welcome to challenge #13 at 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge. The challenge this week is" May Flowers". And guess what...no cheating for me this week...I actually included flowers on my card LOL! (ummm...I sort of forgot to include ribbon or lace on my challenge card for last week...I guess it was my week to be an airhead LOL) Don't you hate it when you make a challenge card...and then realize you didn't follow the challenge? As Ida said to me...the DP paper I used looked lacey, so that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I found THIS tutorial on how to make a flip card and just had to try it! What a fun card and fun to open and find the surprise message inside! Wendybell at Wickedly Wonderful Creations made a wonderful video tutorial that was very easy to follow. You just have to give it a try!

The top half of this card is hinged with a brad and flips up to reveal a message. I changed the orientation of the card to fit my image. This is a standard A2 card. The video demonstrates a vertical card, but it was very easy to adjust to a horizontal card.

I used pieces and parts of stamps on this card. The image is the last hedgie on the PB stamp (series of 3 hedgies) , the sentiment inside is part of a sentiment also. The hedgie is cut out and mounted on dimensionals as well as the little FOR YOU gift tag on the flowers.

I used lots of little tools to make this card, including my Spooky Fence punch by Martha Stewart. This fence is just NOT spooky when punched in white...looks springy I thought! Martha has a different fence punch that has all the boards nicely lined up for those who prefer a new, whitewashed picket fence! Mine is falling down a wee bit.

This is what my card looks like opened up. The circle image stays on the outside of the fence and the light green top piece tucks under the fence.

Close up of the brad hinge. The brad holds all the pieces of cardstock together.

------------------------------------

Stamps: Labour of Love 2363K Penny Black, Retired sentiments from SU! Simple Sayings 1 and 2

Cardstock: SU! DP, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Regal Rose

Ink: Memento Black, Image colored with copics, Rose Romance for sentiment

Misc: Swirly cuttlebug folder, misc brad, circle nesties, 2 Martha border punches, SU! Rose ribbon, SU! silver cording, misc button

Happy Easter! Chick Punch Card

I cased this card from Laurie's blog Inkspired Designs. Isn't it just the cutest!? I had the best time making this! Laurie suggested that this would be a great baby card with either a pink or blue bow also!

Punches used:(cardstock barely banana and orange)

I used the largest scallop circle nestie for the body-cut 2

Cut 1 smaller circle nestie for the wings- cut 2 wings leaving 5 scallops on each edge

Stampin Up Punches

3/4 circle for the eyes-2 white and 2 barely banana(tip: put the two banana punches together and cut at the same time, this way you get the same sizing on the eyelids)

1/2 inch punch-punch 2 black

1 inch punch-punch 1 in orange (fold diagonal for nose)

1- 5 Petal punch in Barely banana

2- Boho Blossom punch in orange for feet (can substitute 5 petal punch here)

2- tiny circle hand punch circles glued on for eyes(or a white pen for eye pupils-darn it - I could not find mine today)

I also sponged on More Mustard and just a tiny hint on of Really Rust on the edges.

Piece of Orange ribbon.

Pink chalk for cheeks

This card easy to put together. Just match up the two circles insert the 5 Petal punched flower in the top. I marked two small dots at the top and used my cropadile to punch through all 3 layers and then put the ribbon through and tied into a bow!

3 Clover's Thursday Challenge #8-Color Challenge

I am home from my Mini Vacation and missing the sunshine of Arizona already. Darn it was nice there! I went down to visit some family for a few days and the weather and the visit was perfecto! Wish I could have stayed longer...isn't that how a vacation always works?

I whipped up this card tonight, after rejecting the first card I made...strange, but this card came to me in a dream...I'll take inspiration wherever it comes from!

The challenge over at Kerry's 3 Clovers Designs Thursday Challenge this week is a color challenge. Use So Saffron, Rose Red and Always Artichoke. Now, I was out of Rose Red so I used Regal Rose. I guess that is as close as I could get on this one!

This turned out to be pretty much a Stampin Up card. I used my new SU! sizzlit named Little Leaves. I used a couple of Paper Shaper punches for the flowers and the centers . I used the ball at the end of my embossing tool to shape the little flowers and the center and then stuck them together with glue dots. I also used some of my new Sweet Slumber Designer DP with the wonderful texture like Parisian Breeze has.

I didn't get this done early enough to submit to Kerry, but make sure to go visit and join in this week's challenge!

---------------------------

Stamps: Misc Unmounted Sentiment

Cardstock: Sweet Slumber Specialty paper (pg 158 SU! catalogue) So Saffron, Regal Rose, Always Artichoke

Ink: Always Artichoke

Misc: SU Sizzlit Little Leaves (page 200), glue dots, Paper Shaper punches, Nestability swirly frame(that's what I call it) and little tags...darn if I can ever remember the official names of these nesties. SU! Rose ribbon

My first try at a Bind It All book! Yikes...this was a lot of fun to make, especially for such a special little girl! I don't think I mangled the chip board or anything...so I am going to say my first one is a success, even though I have learned tricks I will do different on the next one!

The button covered cake actually pulls up out of the holder and says HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Sending You My Love, Charlie Brown

I made this card over a month ago...and just got around to finishing it up. You all know how much I love the Peanuts Gang! I had made this as a dimensional card with Charlie up on pop dots(what a wild guy!) and also the mail box and flag. Fun to see IRL. (in real life). The sentiment is also on dimensionals. The inside was finished off with a trail of glittery little red and pink hearts.

One of my new toys that I used on this card is the new Versa Mark Dazzle Frost ink pad. You can't tell in this picture, but the light pink cardstock is stamped with little heart dazzles! It has this very pretty and subtle shimmer. I bought mine from Ellen Hutson's store here. There is also a Champagne color that is so pretty. Ellen made this card using the Champagne ink pad.

I spent last night finishing up a couple projects I started over a month ago...I can't wait to show you the Valentine mini album I put the finishing touches on. I need to take a picture of it during the day...too awkward to photograph in my little light tent, so you will have to be patient! Watch for it hopefully this weekend.

I also have received some very pretty RAK's that I plan to share!

Here's the scoop on this card.

Stamps: l1053 Mail Time by Stampabilities, Circle of Friendship from SU!

Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Real Red, misc DP

Ink: Real Red, Black, Frost Dazzle inkpad, image colored with prisma's and copics

Misc: Nesties, little heart punch, dimensionals, circle punches, SU! mat pack for the paper piercing on the corners.

FCCC and TSSC41-Medallion

Oh, I love this card but I think it is one you have to see in real life to appreciate! I used the sketch challenge from Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #41 but it all started with little Courtney's outfit in From Courtney's Closet Inspiration Challenge #21. Check it out below!

Silly girl

She had some pretty flowery pants on and that's what inspired this whole card. I had some wonderful "flowery" DP that worked it's way into this card. The DP has wonderful silver flowers! I then used this wonderful silver metallic cardstock from SU! and ran a piece through my cuttlebug folder so that a couple of the little birdies showed...gotta get the birdie in there somewhere! If you have never tried SU!'s metallic cardstock, you are missing out!

The medallion was made with various layers of nestability circles and a SU! scallop punch thrown in for good measure. I used a marvy flower punch on the last circle so that some of the silver scallop would show. The brad is a misc one I had in my stash. Lots of layers here! And it also fits in the the Cuttlebug Challenge #5! I think I hit a triple with this card!

Stamps: NONE!

Cardstock: SU cranberry crisp (I think), Taken with Teal, Brushed Silver, DP is Heidi Grace shimmer foiled paper named Midnight Kisses/Mini Foil Floral (goodness what a long name for a piece of paper)

Ink: NONE

Misc: Nesties, SU! scallop punch, Marvy flower punch, misc brad (maybe Memories?), cuttlebug folder, dimensionals

From Courtney's Closet Challenge- Pumpkin Patch

Oh looky...Courtney and Carter at the punkin' patch!

I used the SCS technique challenge (TLC190) of the week here, to make this stair step card.

I just love this little CTMH fence and all the little Paper Shaper punches too!

Courtney went to the punkin' patch for this week's From Courtney's Closet Challenge.
Oh how fun can this challenge get! Her mama bought her the cutest little punkin' outfit for her trip too! If you haven't jumped in on this challenge, you are missing out...it is the cutest challenge around!

I admired this Peanut's stamp in the gallery of Michelle Adams a while back and she was so nice to share some stamped images. Thanks to Michelle! Her SCS gallery is Shellapoo.

Stamps: Stampabilities The Great Pumpkin Patch SR1005, CTMH Autumn's Gifts D1172

Cardstock: Navy, Wild Wasabi, Only Orange, Kraft (all SU!) and vanilla

Sally the Witch

I found the directions for this treat box on texasjodylynn's blog called Confessions of a Ribbon Addict.
You can find her instructions HERE.

I did modify her boxy bag a little bit. She cut her dimensions at 5 X 11 and I cut mine 6 x 11 because I wanted a little bit bigger box. I think you could easily adjust the size of this box to fit your needs. This box ended up measuring 3 1/2 by 2 inches when finished. It is 4 1/2 inches tall.
A good size for a fun Halloween treat!

Now you know that I have a penchant for House Mouse, but I also have a pretty good collection of Peanut stamps too! Doesn't Sally make a cute little witch? KTStamps carries a full line of Peanuts stamps if you are looking for your favorite Peanuts character!

The sentiment is a Studio G dollar stamp.

This is the project I am taking to the OR/WA SCS shoebox swap today in Portland, Oregon...we should have a blast. We went last year and met some fun stampers!I can't wait to share all of their swaps with you! Oh...a whole day of stamping, stamp stores and dinner with a few SCS fans...what a perfect day!
It's hard to tell from these pictures, but Sally got all glittered to go Trick or Treating! I used my little Sakura glitter pen and just did a few quick scribbles on her hat and dress to spruce her up a little. Now she's ready for a night on the town!

Stamps: Sally the Witch-Stampabilities, sentiment and little spidey stamp are from a Studio G $1 stamp set

Ink: Black, SU! markers in Summer Sun and Pumpkin and a tombow for the skintone

Cardstock: Black and SU! more mustard and really rust (I think...it came from a simply scrappin kit)

Misc: circle punches, Martha fence and bat punches, Misc ribbon, nestabilities

From Courtneys Closet Challenge-Old Friends

Okay, I know...I know....this is a really busy card. Not my usual style, but I just kept adding to this card because I didn't have the right stuff I wanted to add. Couldn't find the perfect ribbon, couldn't find my new Tart and Tangy set...argghhhhhhh...I have to get my stamping room put back together!

I wanted to use the strawberry from the Tart and Tangy set, but didn't find it until late last night!

I used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #59 for this card. I love this layout! I used all SU! on this except the ribbon. The sentiment is from Knobbly Gnomes (retired) and Bella Rose DP. I used my 3 flower punch as well as misc circle punches, all SU!

From Courtney's Closet Challenge last week was darling with little Courtney wearing a cute red gingham/plaid dress. You can see it HERE.

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge- Apple of My Eye!

Isn't this just the cutest darn Happy Hopper stamp? I have had this stamp since it first was released. I have to say this blog is enticing me to use all my uninked stamps and I am lovin' it! The difference I am finding is that I used to make 3 or 4 of the same card but now most of my cards are just going to have to be "originals" because by golly, I am off to the next stamp....You should see the order I just received from Dick and Katie at Hmstamps and KTstamps. The links to their online stores are on to the left in places I like to shop! I am going to have to get busy!

Dick at HMstamps has decided to focus just on Penny Black stamps and Katie is now handling all the Peanuts, House Mouse and Friends, Stampendous etc. Go take a peek at their sites!

I made this stamp for the HM&F Monday Challenge...well my stamping time seems to be the weekends, so I am always the last minute lizzy in joining in! This week's challenge was to focus on stitching. This is the first time I have used my sewing machine on a card...fun stuff!

I pulled out my Summer Picnic DP from SU! Oh this stuff is sooooo nice! Love the rich colors. And of course my Martha scallop punch is never far from my reach!

I colored this image with my prisma's and then sewed the image on to some DP and added some little buttons and ribbons to finish it off. I love the sentiment I bought to go with this Happy Hopper too!

I used my beloved little paper shaper apple punch inside.

Stamps: Stampabilities- Happy Hopper An Apple A Day (Hop It) HMLR1047, Apple Of My Eye DR1088

Cardstock: Real Red, GP white, SU! Summer Picnic DP

Ink: Black, Prisma's, SU! markers old olive, real red and choc chip to color sentiment

From Courtneys Closet Challenge #15 ---GO TEAM!

Oh I loved this week's From Courtney's Closet Challenge.

This week was not based on wee Courtney's attire, but the challenge was to make a card based on my favorite sports theme..EASY PEASY! GO DUCKS !!!! (of course Courtney was pictured in sports attire on the challenge page)

My 2 daughters both graduated for the University of Oregon so I have a lot of time invested there! My oldest daughter Erin and her hubby, Matt, were also on the cheerleading squad for the U of O- so I went to a lot of games. Mostly to watch them, but through that became a big Oregon Ducks fan.
Now, because Cole's Mommy and Daddy cheered for the Oregon team, it's no wonder baby Cole is Oregon's #1 fan now. hehe

Now, I realize there is no stamping on this card, but I so enjoyed making it! If anyone is familiar with Autzen Stadium, they have this big screen (Megatron) at one end of the playing field to enable everyone to view the plays and replays easier. So...this card is Cole on the Megatron! Go Cole Go!

I made the little yellow pennants by punching a square with a 1 1/4 inch punch and cutting them into triangles. They are attached on dimensionals. I couldn't find ribbon to match so I ended up coloring some black and white Stampin' Up ribbon with my yellow marker and it matched perfectly! And oh, I just so happen to also have some Oregon designer paper on hand....

Make your own colored ribbon!

Courtney rootin' on her favorite team, ya think? Not Boston, right Libby? I think I remember
U of O playing Mich State before...I think....

Stamps: None

Cardstock: Yoyo yellow, black and U of O paper

Ink: None sentiment computer generated

Misc: SU ribbon, punch, dimensionals, word window punch, sizzix die cut, alpha stickers, yellow marker

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge

I made this card from the sketch on House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.

Whew, this card has a lot going on...Not my typical style, but was fun to try and follow the challenge sketch. In the end, I think I went a little wonky, but my daughter will love it. It is her birthday on Thursday and she LOVES glittery things...an addiction that goes back to her dance days and sequined costumes!

I used Heidi Grace DP as well as some fun little ribbon from Target's $1 spot.

Watch later this week...I have some blog candy to post!!!! woo hooo

Thanks to Suzanne Dean at Scrap Bitz. I received her blog candy that I won a while back...can't wait to try some of the images she sent!

Stamps: House Mouse Make a Wish 02 HMGR 1011, Retired SUp! sentiment(all occasions)

Cardstock: SUp! turq, Heidi Grace DP I just got yesterday...(fun shopping day in the big city), GP white

Ink: Memories black, prisma's to color the image

From Courtney's Closet Challenge-cherry tri-fold #14

Yes, it's time for another From Courtney's Closet Challenge! You can find Libby's challenge for this week HERE.

I have lost count but Libby says it's #14 so it must be! Wow, that's more than 3 months Libby...we are all going to watch Courtney grow up before our eyes!

I made this fun tri-fold card for the challenge this week. I found this cooooool video tutorial for the pattern HERE.

I want to thank Teresa Payne-Neal. Make sure to visit her blog named My Life's Art!

A couple of views from the top and front so you can see how it folds.
Courtney looks like she is having fun on her vacation....lucky girl!!!

I chose red, white and turquoise (colors from her dress) and well as the 3 tiers . My apologies for the junk lighting on the pics, I just couldn't get it right tonight! Need more practice!

From Courtney's Closet Challenge Pink Lace

Isn't she spiffy? Here is Libby's sweet little Courtney in her fancy party dress!
Check out Libby's From Courtney's Closet Challenge.

I loved working with vellum on this card...have not used it much so it was a treat to dig it out (oooh I only had one piece YIKES!) and try out my new cuttlebug edge embossers on this card. Again, I used my cuttlebug folders and edgers, as well as my scorepal, and Stampin Up punches. This is more of a "tool/toy" card as there is no stamping here LOL!

What I noticed most in Courtney's picture this week, was her cute little "piggies". Aren't babies toes just so sweet? I know I am forever tweaking Cole's little toes and he looks up confused at me and wondering what that crazy "GWAMMA" is doing now! HA!

This gave me an excuse to use one of those little cuttlebug folders I just had to have. Aren't these baby feet sweet?

Just a note on the cuttlebug edge embossers. I had a heck of a time (esp with vellum) with it leaving a line on the cardstock. I tried being tricky with cutting pieces of paper the size of the folder and put on top(to keep roller away from cardstock), I tried only going just far enough to get the impression and not run the folder all the way through and in the end I found if I just threw my tan nestability embossing mat over the skinny little edger and carefully ran it through the folder, I didn't get any line...Viola!!! If anyone else comes up with a better/easier tip, I would love to hear it! I'm still experimenting...

Close up of the piggies.

Stamps: None

Tools: Cuttlebug folders(swiss dots, baby feet, edge embosser), S-Up! circle punch and scallop punch, scorepal

Cardstock: Stampin Up Pink

Misc: Ribbon (this has glittery edges), dimensionals

FCCC Pink Tutu!

Little Sweet Courtney in her Pink Tutu!

Leave me a comment and I will pick a random name to send this card too!

I made this for Libby's weekly "From Courtney's Closet Challenge (FCCC)" To see this challenge click HERE. Wowser, number 11 already...

I used another first time stamp...yeah me! I bought this cute stamp From Dick at HMStamps. The link to his site is in the right column of my blog.

When I saw sweet Courtney's cute outfit, I thought " OH BOY do I have the stamp for this challenge!"

I too used the oval punch to make a pattern to sponge a 'shadow' at the feet of this little mousie...works pretty slick! Just mask off the feet and sponge away. You can see the detail in the close up.

Stamps: Twinkle Toes HMGR1013 Amanda, sentiment from a retired SU set...I needed little tiny words for sure :)

Cardstock: pink, white and black, all SU

Ink: Black, image colored with prisma's

Misc: SU 3 flowers One of a Kind punch, 1/2 inch circle punch, SU oval punches, oval nesties, misc organdy polka dot ribbon, cuttlebug folders-white was swiss dots and the black was the music folder.

Little Courtney is under the weather this week and there may not be a challenge until next week, but you should join in if you have a few spare moments!

Cuttlebug and SU punches Mothers Day card

This is my 2008 Mother's Day card that I made for the favorite Mothers in my life.

I layered Stampin Up punches to make the flower. I used More Mustard ink to shade the So Saffron paper used in the flower and the card elements. I also used some DP from the SU sample pack I got a long time ago for matting and for the green punched center of the flower.

I used my cuttlebug folders as well as the scorepal to make the embossed lines

Cardstock: Celery and So Saffron, SU designer Paper
Ink: More Mustard and Black
Punches: 5 petal flower, snow blossom, boho blossoms(the middle flower)
Stamps: retired SU sentiment
Misc: ribbon from Amuse I bought during a stamp convention, Making Memories brad, Swiss dots cuttlebug folder and another one I can't remember its name, Scorepal
