WOYWW #141

My desk looks like a dumping ground this week! There has been a frenzy of creating going on these last few weeks. You can see all the goodies I just dumped there after our Stampin Up meeting last night. You can see some  Valentine goodies that never found a home...a couple cello bags full of Valentines cookies my daughter forgot to pick up. Hmmm....I even had to go eat a Valentine cookie so I would get a sugar rush---needed that rush in order to have the energy to un-bury my camera LOL! (good excuse as any right?)

Obviously...I unburied it so I could take these pictures. Seems a good straightening is in order so I can have room to create.

Abby...come get your cookies or they will find a good home tomorrow LOL!!! (like in my tummy!)

I made this fun card for my Sweetie's Dad's birthday today! Yes, he was a Valentine baby! How about that for a built in celebration!?   He is quite the fisherman and has done lots of guided fishing trips so I thought this Bugaboo image would be perfect for him.   I wish I would have used just a little bit different paper on the bottom of the card so you could see the fun cat tails better, but oh well...love it just the same.
If you want to pop over and check out Julia (woohoo girl) and her blog The Stamping Ground, you can see many different desks from around the world!

A quick Stampin Up Valentine! and another CASE too

I made this card for the monthly Stampin Up group I belong to-my turn to be the hostess and bring a project. It is a CASE of the sweet card HERE.  I used the sizzix envelope die, 3 heart punch, red ribbon and a SU sentiment from a past hostess set. Very fun!!!

I made this cute little explosion  triangle box too. I found it on this blog HERE! I made the 6 x 6 size with pretty DP cardstock and some real red SU cardstock. I used the cute little Penny Black kitty that I used a while back. Just happened to have an extra image colored up and it fit perfectly! It fits a couple candy hearts or a couple Hershey's kisses. This is a quick and fun project you could make up with any theme! (sorry for the blurry pic)

I hope you have a great Valentine's Day!!!

House Mouse and Friends Challenge-Make Wishes Come True!

Wowser....did we have a great 2012 House Mouse and Friends Blog Hop or what???!  I have met so many new friends and got to look at some DANDY house mouse creations! Almost 100 cards were entered in the blog hop challenge...how cool is that???!!!!

The challenge this week is Make a Wish Come True...pretty open to interpretation I would say. I hope you can join in for this challenge.  Our dear Heather chose this challenge sponsored by  Simon Says Stamp!  A $25 gift card to SSS!

The card I made makes me smile! A great little meece image and the perfect papers to compliment it!

I used the sketch challenge from My Time Made Easy named Pretty Patterns Sketch #47...love the way they added the sentiment.  I used a computer generated sentiment...easy to make the words fit the circle punch that way.  After I took the photo, I figured  I should have added a flame to the candle. Oh well, done deal now!

The mouse and strawberry are added on dimesionals. I used the end of a big round embossing tool to make the images rounded for a fun effect.

I hope you can join in for challenge #113 at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge!

All the prizes will be announced in the next day or so, so make sure to pop over and check it out!
OH WAIT...you are probably waiting to see who won this cute little happy hopper blog candy.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday!  Not the tidy-ness of the last couple weeks for sure! I gave a copic class tonight and came home and dumped those pens on my desk...and then started coloring and got even more pens out. Now it's late...so I guess they will stay there till tomorrow. It's been a long week and I have lots of projects to complete before I head off to visit the grandsons for Lukey's 2nd birthday! 2 already!!! Can't believe it!  I'll show you pics of him when I get home.

Just showing you a couple quick Valentines we made up at the class with our little birdies!

Welcome to Outline's Monday Challenge -A Sketch Challenge  !

This week we are playing along with a sketch challenge. I chose to use this darling collage stamp along with a new embossing folder I just bought!

I flipped the sketch onto it's side. I really wanted to add a big ole' yellow bow on this, but I could just not make it work darn it! You know how I like everything orderly LOL!

The cute little baby, the baby stroller and the sweetpea sentiment are added on dimensionals. I also added the green star to replicate the green stars on the image.

Happy Birthday Maddie!

Awww. Today is Super Bowl Sunday and I have some company coming over for the game and dinner. One is a sweet little girl named Madison...Maddie for short. Yesterday she had a Cake Boss birthday party...(fashioned after the TV show)-but today is her actual birthday.  I wanted to make her a little surprise!
I cut out this sweet little Piece O' Cake box from Creations by AR, added a few flowers cut with my silhouette, a tag and the word Love from the Sihouette store and a little Penny Black hedgie for a cute little touch. I filled this up with Hershey's kisses.

It was a little hard to photograph, but here is the top!

Enjoy and see you tomorrow for Outlines Monday Challenge!

WOYWW What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday...#139 and SFYTT

Tonight I am showing off a big pile of twine sitting on my desk. Yucky, frustrating, irritating.... I get so impatient I end up just pulling a piece and cutting it off. I found this great tip on pinterest! Wrap your twine around a clothes pin (bought the pins at The Dollar store )   When you finish wrapping the twine, tuck it into the "clamps" of the clothes pin and that will hold you twine or ribbon in place! I think it would be better to do this before you start pulling on the twine...too late for me LOL! This will be a perfect project while sitting and watching my favorite TV show!

So neat and compact...such a simple idea!  Gotta love pinterest!

If you have a few minutes, stop by Julia's Stamping Ground  and take a tour of desks from around the world!

And...here I am skidding in sideways finishing my SFYYT (sketch for you to try-January 2012)  over at Jen's i{heart}2stamp. The last day of challenge!

Thanks for popping in today and welcome to all my new followers! Wow-weeee!

Outlines Monday Challenge-Follow Your Heart!

The House Mouse and Friends Blog Hop is posted below this entry---- Click here.

Welcome to Outline's Monday Challenge -Follow Your Heart !

I fell in love with this week's sketch challenge over at Clean and Simple and immediately knew that it would be a perfect fit for these Outlines stamps!  I used an Outlines  tiny sentiment and  these fun Valentine Posy Centers.

I used my new Sizzix hearts embossing folder on kraft cardstock and sewed that piece onto a white piece of cardstock.  I used the slot punch from SU! and punched in to the panel. I added some red ribbon, twine and the tiny sentiment. I punched each Valentine Posey Center with a 1 inch circle punch and layered it on to a red 1 1/4 red punched circle. I added each one on to the panel with dimensionals.

I love the simplicity of this card and those posey centers--- aren't they great?

WOYWW What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday...#138

I can't believe it is time for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday already!  If you want to see what I am talking about, Hop over to Julia's place at the Stamping Ground for a peek!

Here's my workdesk...not a whole lot going on, did a tidy tonight instead of stamping. It has been a tough week for me and my heart is just not feeling very creative. I thought maybe if I went into my craft room and rustled some papers around I would feel crafty, but it didn't work. I did get some stuff out to make a couple DT cards due next week. I do better with a deadline for sure!   You also see a pile of new stamps from Art Impressions and some new shimmery SU white paper waiting patiently.

Last week someone caught the fact that I moved my desk ...Yep, I moved it a while back when I bought my new desk. I need to get around to showing you it to you someday soon!

When I am sitting at my desk I have a veiw of this wall below...ribbon, Martha punches and a whole bunch of House Mouse stamps.
On the dressers I have my big kick on the left and on  the right dresser is my light box.

I cut these cute little penguins with my new silhouette. My daughter and I cut out over 30 of these little critters for her classroom bulletin board. Worked perfect for her penguin math unit! We had a fun afternoon mixing and matching different colors of earmuffs, mittens and head bands.LOL! Of course I had to cut a couple for Lukey and Cole. Need to get these in the mail soon!

That's it for this week. I hope things get better next week...maybe I will be better about visiting...soon I promise.

If Today Was Your Last Day

I woke up this morning to this song playing on my radio.

Nickelback's song titled

If Today Was Your Last Day

...I laid there and listened to the words..finding it a somewhat odd selection for so early in the morning. And then the same station played it again just a few hours later. I mentioned to my coworkers that this was strange to hear this song twice in just a few short hours.

Thank you Linda.   Rest in peace my dear friend.

Outlines Monday Challenge-Feeling Blue

Welcome to Outline's Monday Challenge -Feeling Blue!

I always think of winter  or snow when I think of BLUE so here is my BLUE/WINTER creation for our Monday Challenge.

I finished this card waaaayyy different than I had planned, but I like it anyway! Turned out sort of fancy for such a humorous sentiment.  I love this gorgeous Bo Bunny Snowfall Collection DP.  It matches the Stampin Up Baja Breeze cardstock and ribbon perfectly! I am tickled as Baja is one of my favorite cardstocks!

I double stamped the sentiment and used part white and part blue and then added some dimensionals.

The card is on Baja cardstock and I have also used browns to compliment the pretty DP.  I added an EK Success punched border, twine and a fun snowflake charm to finish this up!

Please check out what the rest of the team has made for you today!

Happy Birthday Brother!

Friday is my brother Richard's birthday! With all the happenings going on over at Bugaboo, I had to print up Gus and color him up! He and Stella were rockstars this week for the Bugaboo 2nd Birthday Bash.

My brother is always so handy dandy and helping me out around my house with repairs or projects so I thought this image was perfect for him. This image is called Gus Tidbits-WTF.  I cut around the image and added it to the card on dimensionals.  I also added his birthdate on the calender and stamped  a birthday greeting on a hammer I cut out with my silhouette and chalked a bit. I might add some crystal effects to his glasses and call it good!

Hope you enjoy Gus as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by today...Happy Birthday Dinky!

Music Saves My Soul Saturday-or any day!

Blame it on Jovi...I was going to stamp tonight and just fiddle in my craft room and I was browsing my google reader and stumbled on Jovi's Music Saves My Soul post...Now, I really wanted to start a Rob Thomas love fest (blame that on Carol L) because Jovi posted a Rob/Matchbox Twenty video...so I popped over to listed to some Rob video's. Boy that man has one of the most soulful voices!!! Makes my heart go pitter patter! Love his voice...as much as I love Daryl Hall from Hall & Oates (high school days!)  and a new love of Jimmy Wayne. That boy is an inspiration in pulling your life up by your bootstraps! I saw him in a concert hall that held about 250 people just as he was hitting the big time. His life story is so inspirational !..What better video to show you today than Jimmy singing with Daryl at Daryl's House! And then you can pop over to other Daryl's House video's and watch Rob sing with Daryl...I am in heaven. I think I needed some soulful music tonight...I feel better just listening to some good tunes.
If you want to join in Marcea's Music Saves My Soul Saturday (you can post any day of the week!) Don't miss Rob on Jovi's blog and a  real cool version of an Adele song this week that I loved!

WOYWW What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday...#137

Can you tell me I am having a hard time getting focused? I have finally started a wedding present that I should have had done last May...well within my 1 year limit LOL!

You can see I have started a vintage printer tray(struggling as it is not my style), finished my little heart shadow box with a wedding picture of Abby and Rick, got out some Bugaboo images to play with and a couple Mo's images too...lots of embellies for the printer tray, some Outlines stamps for next weeks challenge..and a list of  cards due this month--  next to some dandy lindt truffles in case I need some energy LOL!

I think I am going to put away the tray and think about it for a while. It is straining my brain LOL! Maybe tomorrow I will finish my Bugaboo card, maybe not....Maybe I will finish my Outlines card...maybe not...

Take a few minutes and hop on over to Julia's house and say hello to the other WOYWWer's!

Creations by AR 3D Valentine Blog Hop!

New Releases!!!
Win two new templates!

3D Valentine Blog Hop

A pretty 3D shadow box Valentine for the new Mr & Mrs!

This is a sweet template created by Adela at Creations by AR. It is very quick and easy to cut, fold and put together! Truly can be made in just minutes!

I made this shadow box with some black and red cardstock  and some  printed DP from Bo Bunny. One of the things I love about electronic cutting templates is that you can manipulate them any way you want...change sizes, change layers, add layers, ---whatever your 'heart' desires!
I added an additional red layer between the black printed paper on the top of my shadow box and the black  box itself.  (I just resized the top piece a tiny bit smaller and then inserted it in between the box and cover sheet).

Here you can see how the shadow box has a dandy little stand on the back.

A few details about this box. The picture is of my daughter and her new husband.( I hope he doesn't get upset that I plaster his mug all over my blog LOL!!!!  ).. I cut around a picture of their first kiss as husband and wife and added dimensionals on the back of the photo to add  dimension inside the box as well. I did use a black pen to ink the edges of the picture so the white edges wouldn't show.  I added a couple strips of Heidi Swapp rhinestones around the heart opening and added some "squiggly" ribbon and the perfect SU! sentiment.
(This template also comes with a square opening too.)

The new templates:

To see some wonderful examples of these new templates follow the list of the team from Creations by AR.  Each team member will be giving away both templates and all you have to do to win  is leave a comment on the blogs by Wednesday afternoon. Winners will be announced Thursday morning! Good Luck to you all!

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge-Black and White

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge   Black and White

This card was very easy to make...basically all you need to do is stamp an image and slap it on some paper. I did stamp a small little hello friend sentiment on the mouse stationary.  Easy!

I used one of my very first House Mouse stamps (back in the days when Stampa Rosa made them)  I used my silhouette to cut out a postage stamp card base so I could carry on the  stamp theme! Very fun and very fast. I actually made a couple of these to send out!  This felt a bit like cheating just adding a "naked" image LOL...It was hard not to pull out the copics and do a little coloring! But hey, that might be cheating a wee bit LOL...I almost did it........hee hee

This is a challenge you all could find time for! Give it a whirl!!!

Take a peek over at our HM&F's Blog and see what the rest of the team has created! You will also get to greet our new teamies that will be joining in over the next several challenges.
