How SWEET it is...

Here we go...another pretty Valentine card!  It really is "pinker" than it appears here, but it would just not edit 100% right. Sheesh...

For this card I have used the Sizzix Elegant Card Stand Up dies cut set...it comes with 19 dies!!!

On this card you can see that I used the pop up card and the matting pieces, the pretty elements in the front, and the matted word "sweet". It does include the words thanks, take, care, bunch as well.  I also used one of the border dies included in the set on the edge of my card and added some rhinestones as well.

The chocolate truffle piece and little hearts  were files from the Silhouette Store. The sentiment is from a set from My Craft Spot(no longer available), which was stamped in brown ink.

You have a piece of my heart!

I made this sweet Penny Black hedgie card using the Spellbinders Heart Circles from Inspiration Emporium. I cut two large circles and made them in to an easel card and then mounted a smaller pink circle for the pop up piece.  I added a few black pearls and a  little red heart to finish it off. In adding the sentiment, I had to twist the sentiment in the opposite direction than it was made by sticking it on a clear block and twisting it into the opposite direction. Worked pretty slick!

2015 Calender

Welcome to January 2015!

I know, I know!  I love this Cash Keeper stamp from Inspiration Emporium-might be why you have seen it here and here. I love a stamp that you can use over and over!

I saw this fun Easel Calender idea on Lori Whitlock's blog and just had to make me one for my own desk. I do have good intentions of making a new  'scene' for each month, so you will probably see more of this Calender Easel!!!

I cut the easel out of cardboard and covered with wood grain paper. I cut out the magnet piece and glued it into the opening. I have all the calendar months  cut out and ready to switch out . I already have plans for February and March!

The 'chalkboard' is actually a very thin magnet and I have also added small pieces of it behind the 'January' embellishment and my sweet  little Granny-they are nice and secure on the chalkboard easel but easily removed too. I paid a pretty penny for just a few small sheets of magnets, but I have read that places like Home Depot have big pieces of magnets to cover vents in your house for much cheaper. I will have to check that out!!!

Silhouette Valentines-don't forget to use the negative!

Here are a few more cute and quick Valentines I made with files from the Silhouette Store.

The actual cut file is the black silhouette on the card base on the left. When I saw all the black pieces stuck to the mat, I thought I would make a 'negative card' too. No sense wasting pieces!!  I added the original piece onto  the second card base and then just added glue to the empty spaces and filled in with the black pieces. I carefully pulled up the main cut piece once in awhile to make sure it stayed free, using a little tape on the side edge (acting like a hinge)so I could lift it up and still keep it in the same place.

Just think-I almost threw these pieces away!

I added a cute little xoxo sentiment and there you are-Quick and Easy!

House Mouse and Friends Midway Reminder-Juggling Dice

Midway Reminder

Anything Goes with an Optional  Sketch

Anything Goes

Deja Vue?  Yes--- I used this same stamp last week...and made a card with the sketch. I actually had bought this fun Pair-A-Dice designer paper to go with this stamp...so I just had to make another card!

I don't know if all of you know what BUNCO is, but it is a dice game we play in the US.  I belong to a group of 12 friends and we get together once a month, have dinner and play Bunco. A great way to touch base with your friends and have a little fun too!  Each month there is a hostess and she is in charge of dinner at her home,  We also give little prizes to the winners. I usually make a few cards for the winners and stick in a little $.   This card will go to one of the winners! Getting an early start as I am the March girl!

The step card is cut with my Silhouette. I added the white matting for a little more 'pop'(offset .05).  Like the other card I made last week, the dice is cut out and added on pop dots, as well as the image and letters. The white squares and the letters are also cut with my Silhouette.  I used a  nestie to cut out the image.

I do hope you will join in this week...the challenge runs through Saturday January 17th.

Go Oregon Ducks!!!

GO DUCKS !!!

Tomorrow is the National College Football playoffs here in the US! My daughters happened to go to the University of Oregon and we are all diehard fans. We will be in front of the TV at 5:30pm tomorrow night-rootin' on our team!

I had this card in the planning stages forever...and it is not what I planned-due to a little help from my Grandson Lukey.  I borrowed a PBlack  stamp from his Mama. It was a Christmas stamp with 4 individual ducks holding the letters for the word NOEL.  I borrowed the stamp from her and was going to use the "O" duck as part of a card for the "O"in the word Love. During the Christmas holidays, he saw his Mama's stamp on my table and knew it needed to go home I guess-but Gwamma did not know that. I looked and looked for that stamp. I know things get a little crazy during the holiday season-but I was sure I knew where I had put it.  I finally called his Mama and she said Lukey had packed the stamp into his suitcase during his Christmas visit and took it back home. LOL-looking out for his Mommy for sure!

So....this is plan #2 instead. Maybe next year I will be able to borrow her stamp again!

The LOVE is a file from the Silhouette Store and 'my Ducks' is the Hobo font from my computer. I cut out  the Ducks from Love and Huggin  and Duckling by Penny Black.

I do hope you all are rooting for your favorite team tomorrow night(GO DUCKS)! Let the games begin....

Have a DICE Birthday! HMFMC #185

Anything Goes with an Optional  Sketch

Welcome back all my mousie friends!

Our team had a nice holiday break but now we are back to inspire you to stamp up your stash of House Mousies!

It has been a long time since I have done a sketch challenge and boy I just loved it! When I first started stamping,  I did sketch challenges all the time...a good way to learn how to use design and fun papers!  I got my Simple Stories Say Cheese 6x6 paper pad out and went to town! It is a little wild, but I think it turned out fun!!!   I did flip the the sketch upside down to make it work for me LOL.

I adore this image, so by golly-you may see it pop again...just sayin...

I used a MFT pierced circle stax  for my image, cut a slightly larger red circle with my Silhouette to mat it and also cut the sentiment banners with my Silhouette. The dice and the word Birthday are on pop dots as well. Other than that, I just let the sketch do the talkin'!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you all!

Here are a couple pics of versions of our barnwood Christmas Tree projects that My Dad, my friend Jill and I made this year...we sure had fun making them!!! They are meant to stand outside in the weather-sort of the shabby chic look !  We used old wood my Dad had around his property, so they were all a little different!

Believe in the magic! Go Oregon Ducks!!!

If you follow college football at all, you know that the Oregon Duck football team will be playing in the Rose Bowl on January 1st! Our family is so excited for the new Heisman trophy winner too...Congrats to Marcus Mariota-the Oregon Ducks quarterback!!!

Having two daughters that graduated from the University of Oregon, it is only natural that my family is thrilled to have U of O in the playoffs for the national title! Our family really gets into the Ducks games! My Mom even calls me after every touchdown and yells Woo Hooo and then hangs up! It has become a tradition!

I am known for making a green and yellow Oregon Duck project here and there....
so this is my latest Duck card. This card just  had to be a Christmas card. Took me forever to find time to finish it-stamping time is at a premium!!!

I used a fun Penny Black Duckling stamp as well as a partial sentiment (yes, I cut apart my sentiment stamp-but I put it back together after I was done-I promise!)  from a new Mama Elephant stamp set-Believe in  Magic  and also stamped on the back of the card with the  Paper Smooches Just For You stamp set. I am not always good about signing the back of my cards so I was happy to be 'prompted' to do just that with this set! You can find both of these sets at Inspiration Emporium and get a 10% if you use the code suestamps13.

I also used an Impression Obsession spiral flower die to make the little Roses that I stuck over the tulips on the original stamp...after all, it is the Rose Bowl! The red  bow and the "O"  were cut with my Silhouette and the designer paper is Doodlebug-Home for the Holidays. The solid cardstock is from SU! (I really miss Summer Sun).

On a side note:

...... my crafty friend Kecia Waters is rooting for her team in the playoffs too-Ohio State is one of the top 4 as well. She makes the best Ohio State team inspired cards! I  always get tickled over her creations-You can see them HERE,

Christmas projects 2014- part 2!

Just a quick peek at another project I have been working on with my school teacher daughter Abby. She did the glittering and bows and I did the vinyl lettering. We are quite the tag team!
She will surprise her students in the morning with a little tree full of these ornaments. One side of the ornament has their name in the Waltograph font and the other uses the same font with the school and year information.

If you are so inclined to make any of these, let me recommend this video on reverse weeding-it was a real life saver when I got to the small printed info!

Hope you are enjoying all the preparations of the holidays!  I have been working on a single Oregon Ducks card for several weeks now and I  keep getting side tracked, but maybe this week I will get a few minutes to finish it up!

See You Soon!

What have I been up to?

 Playing with my Silhouette!

I have a couple days of vacation so I am finishing up some wrapping for my parents.  My parents are in their 80's and given all the happenings of 2014, they have not had the energy for the holiday projects they normally do, but they oh so love to give "a little something" to each grandchild, great grand child and GREAT GREAT grandchild! (over 40 and counting)Yes, we have a big family!  This year I shopped for them on Black Friday sales mostly at Penny's and got these lovely kraft gift boxes along with the purchases.

My Mom usually does her own wrapping, but this year I told her I would take care of it. Here's my plan ---LOL...use the lovely kraft boxes, add some fancy, shiny wire ribbon and a fun snowflake alphabet from Miss Kates Cuttables as the name tags. Mom will add the pretty ribbon and bows to the wrapped little kids packages once they get to her house! I wish I had time to add to the krafty boxes  a touch of greenery , but hey-I'm done for this year!

Now on to more daily projects. This plan fit right in with my goal of simplifying this year...less decorations, fewer cookies and easier annual Christmas project! OH---I forgot to show you that...I will get pics and show you my Pinterest barnwood trees soon!

I hope you enjoyed this peek inside my Christmas!

Sue
