What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 246

Wow, it has been a long time since I joined Julia's group across the pond!  Here is my desk today...a wee bit out of hand! I have really not been crafting at all this week. I have been doing big people work(working on tax stuff for my family) so no time to get crafty unfortunately. Hopefully soon! You can see a few stamps half buried on my desk, an unfinished Valentine, and piled in front of my beloved Silhouette is more bookwork to finish when I get home from my real job. OH MY! I am going to hunker down and get 'er done so I can do a little craftin soon...new toys have arrived in the mail and they are calling my name! LOL

I did go to Urban Paper (my local crafty store) to my monthly cookbook club night. Jill makes up the pages, (Two 6x6 pages tonight)---we scrap from a premade kit and taste the recipe! She does all the work and we get to enjoy it all! Thanks Jill!  I LOVE that Impression Obsession tree die!

Well, that's it for me tonight...I might just go and clean my desk after seeing this picture YIKES!!!

Hop over the Julia's Stamping Ground and join in WOYW?W #246! (did you notice her blog on my monitor?)

See you soon!

WOYWW 211-Yummy Stuff!

Every month I go to a recipe Cook Book Club at my local papercrafting store-Urban Paper!  We get to taste a recipe and then scrap it. Tonight was Warm Chocolate Cakes with Marshmallow Meringue. Delish!!!!
We used some new Authentique papers, glassine bag to hold recipe pages, cloth washi tape for the cake and page tabs and some new Tim Holtz wrinkle ribbon(okay Jill-I already forgot the official name of it!)

Edited to add a picture of the REST of the recipe LOL-there you go Sandy!

And here is my desk-waiting for me to get home from Cook Book Club-new Great Impressions stamps on one side(with real unfun  paperwork hidden underneath), an Art Impressions image colored up and waiting to be made into a card and a whole pile of new goodies from Inspiration Emporium off to the right! I have good stuff just waiting for me!

That's my desk for tonight! I am working cherry harvest now, so my WOYWW posts are a little hit and miss, but I will try to be here when I can!  I am hopping over to Julia's house -Stamping Ground right now to see What's On Her Workdesk Wednesday!  See you there....

WOYWW #176

Double Whammy! Today on What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday I am showing you both my desks. My computer area and my 'real' crafty desk. I am working on my Great Impressions Saturday Morning Jammie post/card in the top picture at my real not so fun working desk and in the bottom picture I am still recovering from filming my little mini album video for the Great Impressions/Echo Park blog hop. Ha! Basically just had to swipe everything off the top of the desk so it didn't look like a disaster-really don't want to look like a piggie to the EP team and all the hoppers coming to visit LOL!( I know my dear WOYWW'ers would understand though)  You can also see the start of some Halloween projects on both desks..love that cobweb cut!  If you want to see my really fun mini album I made, you can see it HERE! You could even win some Echo Park paper and Great Impression Stamps! I would love it if you popped over to check it out.

Tonight I went to my monthly scrapbooking cookbook club. Our ringmaster Jill from Urban Papers designs a 6x6 scrapbook page and also brings the recipe all cooked up for sampling! Tonight was all about Pumpkin Muffins. She says to beware, this recipe makes about 70 muffins! I really love the Pumpkin Muffins sign hanging with little chains...very clever Jill!
Off to finish up my Saturday project, so I will see you then. Don't forget to stop in and say Hello to the crafters at WOYW?W-and say hello to Mrs. Dunnit-she loves to hear from you!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday

Yep, a trashed desk today...crafting faster than I am clearing LOL! You can see a bunch of rolls of ribbon, trying to find "the perfect one"!  Also, some fun little tins I bought at Target...a potential 4th of July project.

Speaking of 4th of July projects-here is a sneak peek of something I am going to post on Thursday. Don't miss it!

I went to my monthly cookbook club  tonight- we scrap a page and taste the recipe.  Tonight we had a delish cold tomato soup called Gazpacho.  OH MY!  Oh so yummy!  I love the page with the chevron corner border too!
*Now I do not like shrimp and the one we tasted tonight was just veggies so this is a keeper.

Take a few minutes if you can to stop by and read what our wonderful Julia  @  The Stamping Ground is up to today!

WOYW?w #154-a recipe

Take a gander of to Julia's house and check out what's going on...it is getting close to the 3 year anniversary!

A quick peek at one of the  corners of my crafty room...this is where I keep my sewing machine, copic refills, cricut cartridges, and ink pads. (my Dad made the holder for me) .  Also a pic of my first daughter and I on her wedding day I think maybe 6 years ago.  My hair certainly had less grey then! LOL

Not much change on my desk  this week, or at least that I can show you. Notice the nice smellin' rose on the left side of my desk...specially hand picked for me by one of my son's friends! So nice!

I am going to show you this yummy recipe I scrapped at my local scrapbook store, Urban Paper.  Jill said I could show you this recipe...oh so yummy!  We meet once a month and scrap and taste test a recipe. We scrapped this recipe in April using a pretty Hero Arts stamp for the flower...so far one of my very faves out of 6 years or so! (although I can say that almost all are my fave!)
Such pretty colors, really reminds me of Hawaii!

Here is the recipe:

6 cups flour
3 eggs
1 1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 (1/4 ounce) pacages of yeast
1/2 cup melted butter

Beat eggs. Add pineapple juice, water, sugar, ginger, vanilla & butter. Put 3 cups flour into a large bowl. Add egg mixture and stir. Sprinkle in yeast, 1 package at a time, mixing well. Gradually add remaining flour. Leave batter in bowl, cover with cloth and let rise 1 hour. Remove from bowl and knead in 1/2 cup flour. Knead 10 times. Divide into 3 parts, place in well greased cake pans (ours were made into rolls...yummy that way) cover, let rise 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

WOYWW #93 and winner of the blog candy

Another visit over to Julia's Stamping Ground What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday?  You can see things sort of thrown around this week and not really put away yet. In the bottom right of the picture, you can see a wee bit of some new twine I just bought for Charla for her birthday and of course had to get some for myself!

I do have to tell you about this cupcake page on my desk though!

I belong to a monthly Cookbook club. Our leader is Jill McDonald, owner of Urban Papers, the  local papercrafting store. Every month Jill whips up one of her favorite recipes, brings it for us to sample. We all sit around, eat our yummy and  visit and scrap together! Tonight she brought a delicious cupcake recipe named Hostess Cupcakes. (a chocolate cupcake with a marshmallow filling and fudgy frosting on the top) Now you girls across the ocean may not be familiar with this treat, but it has been around the USA for ages. This is a "knock off" homemade version of the store bought.  I would have brought my cupcake home and taken a picture for this post tonight, but really...it was gone in about one minute!

I can not even begin to tell you how delish this treat was! I asked my friend Charla to snap a picture before I ate this treat up in two seconds flat!

Make sure to take a close up peek at the flower on this layout....the center is a zipper!
We gathered  up the zipper so it ruffled up and stuck it on with a pretty brad..  We also used some Coordinations polka dot paper and did a little sanding to highlight the dots.  The stamped sentiment is from Maya Road.

a better view of the two pages

close up of the flower with the fun zipper center!

Hope you all can join in this week...stop in and say Hello to the other Workdesk crafters! You don't even have to link up only on Wednesday...we visit all week long!

Oops...forgot to tell you who won my blog candy from last week's WOYWW.  drumrolllll........The winner is  Posh Creations! Thanks to all of you who left such fun input on products you had to have, but never used!

Cookbook Club December-Nanaimo Bars

I had my monthly Desserts Cookbook Scrapping Class last night and I wanted to show you another one of Jill McHale's(still?) wonderful goody creations. These were pretty yummy--- although I did eat one at class and Jill let me bring one home to photograph...I made a deal with my son --take a picture and get the goody! Sounds like a good deal for me and for him! Thanks Matt!

I used to make something similar with a basic frosting mix in the middle and colored some red and some green and flavored the frosting with mint flavoring...tasty and festive!

Be sure to check out Jill's other creations under the Cookbook label on the right of my blog.

September Cookbook Club

I made this for last month's cook book club. The page is designed by Jill McHale from our local scrapbook store, The Picture Patch. I am sort of a picky eater, and I looked at that and wasn't sure I wanted to taste it, but by golly it was quite good. Charla and I attend Jill's monthly cookbook club and each year has a different theme! We are just finishing up Salads and going into Cookies next...yahoo.

I cringe when we have to do needle work, but the sewing on this page wasn't too bad! Whew!

I have been busy this week, trying to get my s'crap' room put back together. I decided last weekend to take the whole thing apart, rearrange, paint furniture etc...wellllll...now I am doing the not so fun stuff of putting it all back on shelves etc. I can't find anything.

I am attending the SCS OR/WA shoebox swap on Saturday and still working on my Courtney's Closet challenge card...just a wee bit late. Watch for a couple cute things coming up in the next couple of days!

Grandma's 4th of July Jello Salad

The July Monthly Cookbook page is done! Designed again by the amazing Jill McHale of the Picture Patch. (watch for her blog coming soon!)

Oh talk about a tasty salad...YUMMY! Now, I am not a big fan of anything cherry except maybe cherry lifesavers...but this was truly a tangy jello and would be perfect for your 4th of July get together. (can you believe that I work at a cherry food processing plant at that!) I love FRESH cherries, so I guess I am spoiled! And yes, the cherries should be rolling into the plant any day now. Anyway, this salad has a great zing to it that is delicious!

My longtime stamping buddy and dear friend Charla, takes this class with me. Of course this was the class that Charla had to miss...always when there are lots of little pieces to either thread or tear or piece or whatever...LOL That meant I had to make mine and hers too! I was the lone scrapper threading all those darn buttons....I always tell her she owes me one after scrapping a page like this! (but she tells me the same thing when I have to be absent hehe)

Hope you enjoy!

Snickers Salad

No stamping here!

I belong to a cookbook club through our local scrapbook store, Picture Patch. They have a wonderfully talented staff.
The class is instructed and all pages designed by Jill McHale. Each year is a different food category. One year was APPETIZERS and one was COOKIES too.
This years class will focus on SALADS. The first class I took was CHOCOLATE. If anyone knows me very well...they know that I am stuck on cookies, so I think that year was my favorite.

I am not much of a scrapper, but I do get some fun inspiration from Jill's designs as well as some tasty treats. She makes up the recipe each month and brings it for her official taste testers/students! It is a nice evening of scrapping, tasting and visiting. I think this is my 4th year!

This is truly a wonderful salad, give it a try!
