WOYW?W

You can blame this post on April Story...she came to visit me today and she lead me back to WOYW?W- What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday! I haven't shared my workdesk with Julia in over 3 years! Oh my! For those newer to my blog, Miss Julia shares a pic of her crafty work desk (and encourages you to share a pic too) each Wednesday and has for over 8 years!

Actually I am stalling...

I took a vacation day today and designated it as Project Clean House! I must get all my holiday decor put away! But first I gave myself one hour to play on the computer-and look what happened!

Today my desk looks pretty much the same as always, although today I am prepared to do book work for my Dad as well, that explains the piles of papers I 'organized' last night. You can see a few new pictures in place and the ever present big cup of crushed ice and a big roll of vinyl transfer tape on the floor by my chair.  At the end of my desk you can see a wooden sign I just stenciled for my Dad-waiting for a coat of stain-maybe that will happen today if when I get my chores done.......pop over and say hello to Julia if you have a few minutes!

WOYW?W Happy 4th of July!!!

A couple times a year, I make a little treat for my co-workers. Since we work the cherry harvest and none of us seem to have a life during the summer months, a little pick me up goes a long way. Some of my co-workers save everything I give them and display them in their office. I always like to see them all lined up like that...I know that is a paper crafter's joy!

Today I am showing you the Patriotic  Lollipop Covers file that I bought from SVG Cuttings and cut out with my Silhouette. I make about 30 ish of these and decided the flag and Uncle Sam are my favorites, so I have cut a bunch of each...you can see them all piled up on my shelf behind my desk in the picture below.

You can see how the pops fit inside the cover here
Fun starred tootsie pops from Winco
Yeah...I nudged my work area in to the post today too...You can see the piles of pieces waiting to be glued still...I figure if I do 4 or 5 a night...I will be done by the 4th of July.  Looky at the pretty old mirror (minus the mirror) Any ideas out there?  Thinking of using it as a picture frame to hang on the wall....It was just too pretty to pass up...suggestions appreciated! Yep-I need to file away my copics too! You can also see a wedding photo of me and my firstborn on her wedding day-that's been a while (8 years I think) I certainly look younger!  Also a couple mini albums of my little grands that I like to look through and remember when they were little. I need to make more of these...such a joy to flip through!

Well, that is my work space today...4th of July projects and all! I do hope you can hop over to Julia's blog --Stamping Ground--and take a peek at what is happening on the other desks being shared. And don't forget to give a Julia a hug, she has been under the weather and we are all wishing her a speedy recovery!

Photo Op
The wind was blowing and the 'pops' were not cooperating. Their 'hair' is all wonky, one is leaning on the other(he's touching me Mom), they would not stay in line...sheesh!!!!! That really is how group photo's look of my kids too!

 Uncle Sam's Hat
 Firecracker
 Flag and Star
 Uncle Sam-my favorite!

Dance In the Rain-WOYW?W

Happy Anniversary!

I had an interesting time making this card. You see...I am not much of a technique stamper. Give me pretty paper and copics and I am a happy camper. Give me something that makes messes-and I make messes---awww not so much.

By chance I saw this easy technique on Splitcoast Stampers and decided to give it a whirl. I ordered some pretty Distress Paint Daubers from Inspiration Emporium, cut up some watercolor papers and went to town. First thing I did was open up a dauber (instead of pulling off the little protective cap) and accidently spilled it all over. Okay. Try. Again.

Be more careful Sue.

I finally got the swing of dabbing the dauber (that's fun to say) on my embossing folders and coming up with some pretty designs. (a few ugly ones too LOL) So that means you will see a few more designs come through in the next couple of weeks! I did some pewter, a pewter and antiqued bronze one that is lovely, and a couple lilac and tumbled glass-a light turquoisey color.

For the card above I used the Pewter Distress Paint dauber and a musical note embossing folder. I  was a little disappointed that it doesn't show so much, but the wonderful pewter paint looks so pretty-wish you could see the sheen-lovely! I then stamped the Stampers Anonymous Good Thoughts sentiment and layered it all up on shimmer pewter/silver paper and some more watercolor and black. The 'rain dancing girl' is a cut file from the Silhouette Store. I would have loved to add Charlie Chaplin there instead...but sheesh-I don't have it!

Now that I have cleaned all the bronze paint off my hands and desk-I was good to go again.  I made another card just like this in pastels...Love that the Tim woodgrain embossing folder-I think it looked like rain....

Having several daughters that tap  danced their way through school, these cards are for them!

Last week for WOYW?W-What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday-- I showed off my desk and my oh my...it was a mess. Shamed me in to taking EVERYTHING off and giving it a good wash and putting it back together again. It is nice to have a little order-if only for a while!!!

Clean today-let's see what next week brings!

a few more  samples of the watercolor backgrounds I made!

Do pop over and say Hello to Julia  at the Stamping Ground -I know she would love to hear from you. The big 5 year anniversary is here!!!

See you soon!

Sue

WOYW?W Happy Birthday Cupcake

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday

Boy oh Boy...it has been ages since I joined in the fun at What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday. Life and work has gotten so crazy, it is hard to fit in everything I want to do! I thought I would take a quick snapshot of my desk to show that it still looks the same... a new computer monitor..the other one bit the dust.  You can see just a bunch of crud all over...phones, tv remote, cardmaking supplies, nothing really very exciting, but hey-I was missing my crafty friends across the ocean...time to see what is up with Lunch Lady Jan, Wipso & Twiglet, Bluebeard and Elizabeth, Barf Snoodlefart, 505whimsygirl and many many more....you can tell just by these few names they are a very creative lot!!!!  Stop in and say hello to Julia at the Stamping Ground and join the fun if you have a few minutes!

I do have a peek at a couple cards you can see in the picture of my desk sitting over by my open Silhouette machine. They are both the same design, but slightly different papers and crystals. I needed a birthday card for a special lady-so here you go-----

Cupcake cut file is from Miss Kate's Cuttables. You can buy it on her site, or in the Silhouette Store. It is pretty detailed...love all the teeeeeny tiny dark brown outlines that are added to the top of each treat...a little tricky to get glued on, but with patience I managed. Don't know what I was thinking when I decided to added a teeeeny tiny brown rim on top of the white circle...in hindsight I would cut a brown circle slightly larger that the white circle-would have been sooooo much easier, but I wanted it to mimic the brown pieces on top of the cupcakes and cupcake holder.

The cute sentiment is from a My Craft Spot-- Tasty Treats stamp set...a perfect pair!

Well, back to watching the finale of The Voice! I swore I would be in bed early tonight and wouldn't you know-The Voice is 3 hours long tonight and I have to see who wins!!!

Thanks for stopping in today-see you soon!

WOYW?W #248-storage solutions

Oh...my...isn't this a boring desk?  Actually I cleaned it off so I could get serious about finishing all the taxes I have to finish...easier to think when there are not piles everywhere!  I am making slow progress! I am sure you will see more creative desks than mine this week at Julia's What's On You Workdesk? Wednesday.  I must tell you that I probably won't have much time for visiting desks this week, so don't feel bad if you don't leave a msg-totally understood!

So, since I have no craftiness to show you...I thought I would show you what is directly behind me if I turn my chair around---another IKEA storage unit(with drawers).  I love the drawers as I store all my SU! 8.5 x 11 cardstock in there and do not have to worry about it fading in the sunlight. I sure wish they would adjust some of  their other units to fit 12x12 papers!

It is a little bit of a tight squeeze, so I am careful how I put the paper in and take it out-but I do love it!  In the cubby above the paper you can see  how I store my unmounted stamps. On the left are my Art Impression stamps  and  my Inspiration Emporium stamps and dies. They are held in a clear refrigerator drawer I bought at the local grocery store. My stamps are all put in clear Avery Elle envelopes with some white paper inside for stability and uniformity. I have lots of new stamps waiting to be organized and filed!  In the right drawer are House Mouse, Simon Says, Inky Antics, Lily of the Valley, some unmounted SU! sets and some misc stamps. I was surprised how fast I can fill these drawers up!   Each drawer can easily store about 200ish sets I think...I am sure I will find out someday!  I love that I can just pull out a drawer and take it to my desk to flip through!  I think I will make some tabs to divide the brands--someday...You can watch Jennifer McGuire's video on setting up this system. It really is a great storage solution!

Well off to bed! Thanks for stopping by today and will see you soon. Next week is Bunco night, so I am not sure if I will get to join in, but I will try! See you later!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday-New Schtuff

Hello fellow What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday friends! It was so nice to hear from so many of you last week! Great to be back again this week!

Just showing off some new "schtuff" today!  My new Paper Smooches stamps and Sizzix dies, and my new IKEA shelves!  I have this lovely craft room upstairs, but it seems I do not like to be so far away from the action. So.... I have a huge family room that was calling my name.   I gave the piano to the grandsons and filled the spot with these cubbies full of crafty "schtuff"! Sounds like a hardcore crafter doesn't it? HA!

My desk is much cleaner than last week, but still has lots of paperwork that needs to be completed...and lots of tax paperwork to finish too. So....off to finish this post and work a little bit on that project...my plan is to work a little each night while watching The Voice and American Idol-let's see if I make enough progress that way! Time is running out!

I have 4 more white storage boxes to fold and that will give me more storage. Right now I have one full of Christmas projects, one full of vinyl, one with misc things and one full of copy paper, envelopes-office type stuff.  Pretty darned handy!  On the top of the tall shelf you can see the pretty blown glass vases and dishes my brother buys me each Christmas. I love pretty glass...!

I always love black and yellow together...makes for a very striking card!  I adore the pierced circle around the sentiment...very cool-this little die came with the set too! I love these new Sizzix cutting dies...sure makes for fast and easy cards!   I embossed the yellow paper with a Darice Honeycomb background embossing folder-it doesn't show very well in this picture though.

I had to tie a little bow and add couple little buzzie bees on the back too!

Off to work on unfun "schtuff" now, but had to take a few m inutes to play along with Julia over at STAMPING GROUND!  Check out whats going on over there-it is quite a dandy time!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 246

Wow, it has been a long time since I joined Julia's group across the pond!  Here is my desk today...a wee bit out of hand! I have really not been crafting at all this week. I have been doing big people work(working on tax stuff for my family) so no time to get crafty unfortunately. Hopefully soon! You can see a few stamps half buried on my desk, an unfinished Valentine, and piled in front of my beloved Silhouette is more bookwork to finish when I get home from my real job. OH MY! I am going to hunker down and get 'er done so I can do a little craftin soon...new toys have arrived in the mail and they are calling my name! LOL

I did go to Urban Paper (my local crafty store) to my monthly cookbook club night. Jill makes up the pages, (Two 6x6 pages tonight)---we scrap from a premade kit and taste the recipe! She does all the work and we get to enjoy it all! Thanks Jill!  I LOVE that Impression Obsession tree die!

Well, that's it for me tonight...I might just go and clean my desk after seeing this picture YIKES!!!

Hop over the Julia's Stamping Ground and join in WOYW?W #246! (did you notice her blog on my monitor?)

See you soon!

WOYWW 235-Penguin Sippies

Hello fellow WOYW?W'ers!  I have been gone for a while but today I sit procrastinating and  thought to myself...hmmmm Sue-You really should be doing one of the gazillion things on your to-do list, but hey, you really want to do something fun right?

Right!!! So glad I listened to myself! I have been cutting vinyl with my Silhouette for fun little  Christmas gifties, so I thought I would personalize a couple little cheapie penguin cups I bought for my little grandsons. Gwamma is going to visit this weekend so she can't come empty handed can she? This only took about 5 minutes so now what am I going to do to entertain myself????? LOL!

Here you can see the little sippy cups all done and a pretty new paper pack from Inspiration Emporium waiting to be made into some fun projects for the 8 Days of Christmas Blog Hop with Creations by AR-watch for my creations on Sunday!

Thanks for popping in to say Hello. If  you want to check out some other fun desks...Pop over to Julia's house at the Stamping Ground and say Hello to some other What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #235.

WOYW?W #230 Happy Pumpkin Treat Bag

Really, I don't usually post so much...but there are so many cute little Halloween cut files I can't stand it! I like to play with files while I am watching telly at night! These silly punkins were a Friday freebie from Pretty Papers, Pretty Ribbon . You can see it HERE although it is not a freebie anymore. I used some fun Double Dots Bo Bunny Designer Paper.

Below you can see my What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday  mess....Don't forget to stop in and say Hello to our dear leader Ms Julia today!

On one end of my desk you can see my finish box of Halloween treat holders...love that little witch peeking out-she is ready for the big day!!  Yep, a bag of candy sitting behind them...not long for this world LOL! Also my big glass of crushed ice sitting close by my specs.   Thats pretty much it, but I will leave you with a few more pics of some more punkins filled with candy bars.

WOYW?W 226-Box Of Boogers

Don't ask me why I have 3 phones on my desk tonight?????  Didn't even realize that until I saw this picture LOL!  Guess I am a little clueless tonight!

Welcome to What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday hosted by Julia!

Tonight you can see on my desk the finished Boxes of Boogers that you all saw and commented on last week!I did a quick print and cut on my Silhouette of these cute little monsters. It was fun to play around with the print and cut feature and coloring my monsters right in the program!   Also you can see a few House Mouse/Gruffies stamps still on my desk and some blog candy for next week! (check that out next Monday).  I have a new to me gifted John Denver Tribute album too. And what's with that work pad.... Looks like it is time for a change ...lots of scribbling on that thing!
This is just the perfect gross treat for two little boys!
I covered the back side of the boxes with these little monsters! I did not make them fancy or use good paper as I knew they would be ripped open in 2 seconds flat!  Cute little monsters are enough for me!!!

Thanks for stopping in tonight-happy to have you pop in to say hello!

WOYWW #225 Christmas projects!

I have been busy cutting out some little giftie type projects for some "Girls Gone Wild" friends. They like to do a little crafting at their annual get togethers...hmmm not sure what else they do, but this is my contribution!

Here is my desk tonight...just finishing up the samples and getting ready to start more projects! You can see the little get well Benton Bear accordian card I posted this morning over on the left----right behind the 2 boxes of Gummy "BOOGERS" ---LOL Gross I know...but my little grandsons will love them! I will cut out some little fun Halloween character to stick on the boxes for them too. They will love them-I could not pass them up when I saw them in the store!
Cute little reindeer gift card bookmark holder. I made a bunch of these for Christmas and popped in a $5 Starbucks card. Great little last minute gifts for special co-workers, friends and family.  Pull out the reindeer and use as a bookmark when you are done with it. He is so cute peeking over a page!
I made these before...a great little coffee cup gift card set  that opens up to hold a gift card too. I love the Pineapple paper...especially since these projects are all headed to Hawaii!
A fun little 3d box gable box (Lori Whitlock)with some Let It Snow ribbon and a dangly snowflake. Great for a little treat or present.

Ok-that's it for tonight...off to see what the rest of the What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday crafters are up to!

Thanks for stopping in today!

Zombie Hands-What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday #223

Time for What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday. Sorry to say I did not get around to too many desks last week, but I will give it a better try this week-I promise!!!  Loved this Zombie hand cut file the minute I saw it...reminds me of all those spooky little hands reaching in for their Trick or Treat candy.

My desk this week is a mish mash of too many projects going on! Stamps ready to go, Silhouette projects started...a special birthday project for my little school teacher Abby( I say that because she is all of 4 ft 9 in on a tall day LOL)-tomorrow she turns 33! Where does the time go??? Happy Birthday Sweetums!

Yep-that's Stamping Ground on my monitor this week! Hello Julia!!!

My work area is just getting tooooo messy...crafting at warp speed I guess! Maybe time to take a break and take stock of what I need to finish up! Makin' great progress so far!

Here are a few more pics of the Zombie Hands...a fun cut file I got from the Silhouette Store. Chalked and added on different levels.

WOYW?Wednesday #222

I made this card for my a family members 50th birthday about 3 weeks ago and almost forgot to post it! What a fun Art Impressions old fella! His newspaper is cut out twice and added on pop dots. I cut out the 50th and the arrow with my Silhouette and also added this fun inside to it as well.
Sorry for the pictures, but realized I forgot to photograph this card before heading to the birthday party, so here are the pictures of the card sitting on the car dashboard! Good thing I remembered my cell phone-half the time it is lost somewhere
!

I thought I might show you a picture today of my youngest daughter Abby- at her desk...her first full time teaching job! Todayi s the first day of school for her-she worked hard to get her class all organized-Great job Mrs. Cyphers!

That's it for me today.  Tired tonight so I will come back and fill in card info tomorrow-but if you get a chance to pop over and see what Julia and the rest of the What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday crew is up too, you will find yourself having a great time!

Sue

I will enter this in the Art Impressions People Parade challenge.
