Hello Sunshine---A Penny Black Stairstep card

Hi There!

 I have been stamping a lot this week and hope to have more fun things to show you later in the week!

I stamped up this adorable slapstick Penny Black stamp 'Hello dear' and matched it up with a wonderful Ali Edwards/Technique Tuesday sentiment from Bring on the Sun. I had to take another look at the sentiment set as I was typing this-yep it has 8 sentiments plus 3 other images in the set. I reaaallllly like it- so you will be seeing more of it! This stair step card fold is a Silhouette file designed by Lori Whitlock.  I enlarged it so that the finished card is 5x7-large enough to fit this cute Penny Black image. I added red matting to it also. Ha-I have a hard time making a card without red!

I started this card with the the green designer paper...looked blah so I added the red mat. Much better. Cut the green flower stems...looked blah so I added a red shadow...and so it goes....

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge-Something NEW!

We're back!  House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge is back for 2012! Although we all enjoyed a wonderful holiday break, it is always nice to get back to the ink!

For this challenge, we are asking you to use the theme NEW! That can be a new stamp, new papers...pretty wide open! In my case-I have a brand spankin' new baby nephew born December 23rd, so this card is for little Nicholas. Welcome sweet baby!

Now, I know if you have followed the last several posts, you know I have a new Silhouette machine(an electronic cutting machine) so you had to know this was coming LOL! I have had so much fun playing with my new toy. I really love the software it comes with too! It is sooooooo easy to use! I struggled with Cricut/SCAL as I am not too techie, but this software was so easy. Of course, I have the benefit of knowing SCAL so I am sure that made my learning curve much easier.

I used several files from the Silhouette Online Store and a sweet Stampin' Up! sentiment!
