Heidi Has a BLOG!!!! Mini Flip Album for Grandma Heidi

Grandma Heidi loves to take Ainsley fishing so I made this cute little book for her. I used some of my H & M stamps inside as well, but I am not sure any show in these pictures. They are cute fishing poles, boots and gone fishing signs.

I was browsing my DP the other night and found this simply scrappin' kit(Out and About) from Stampin Up!' Don't know where it came from, but it sure is cute. I really don't scrap,
but this project was fun and quick to put together. I found this tutorial on this cute mini flip album and since I have a "thing" for mini albums, I wanted to make a quick one to send to Heidi in honor of her NEW BLOG! Yes, My stamping sister, Heidi, has finally jumped in with both feet!!! She has such amazing talent...you must go see her wonderful creations HERE!

Please leave her a comment to let her know you stopped in to visit!

This book works best just standing up and open for display. The finished size is 6 x 3. I made it like the tutorial, but would probably change some of my inside design and placement of the little pull outs where you can add pictures.

For this book I closed the pull outs with fun little clips, but I would suggest not putting 2 pull outs on the same side of the page(just to even out the book a little) should you decide to make one yourself. I left plenty of room for granny to journal also.

Please let me see what your flip album looks like should you decide to make one!

The Hero Arts Blog posted a video tutorial here.

This is a close up of the pull out. The pics will be mounted on the front and back of each pull out fold(I think there are 4). Each pull out has a little tab to grab to open it up and is held shut with those goldy little clips you see in the pictures.

Stamps: H and M Stamps

Ink: Choc Chip

Cardstock: all from the simply scrappin kit- OUT and ABOUT, all copyright of StampinUP!

Misc: SUP! ribbon and hardware, misc brads

From Courtney's Closet Challenge Ducky #9

Sweet Courtney!

Yes I think this is Libby's Little Addiction 9th challenge week, and the 7th that I have joined in. I missed the first two...where was I? I think I was just getting brave enough to jump into any challenge! This stuff can be addicting. You can check out this week's From Courtney's Closet Challenge here. I have a label on the left of my blog if you want to view all of Courtney's Closet LOL.

This card uses an OLD Stampin Up set named Mini Medleys...one of the first sets I ever bought from SUp!! I am a stamp packrat...

Also, I have been inspired to get out an old unmounted quilt block set I bought many years ago at Auntie Amy's Unmounted Stamping Convention in Portland, Oregon (remember the good ole days?). I bought it before I realized the importance of documenting the stamping company where I purchased it from. I have bought numerous stamps from this company and if I hear the name I will recognize it! duh! I miss the days of the BIG unmounted conventions...do you think they will make a comeback? I'm keeping my inky fingers crossed!

Doesn't this quilt block remind you of the new Papertrey set that was just released.? I have seen beautiful cards made with their quilt blocks!

The duckies and the sentiment are popped up on dimensionals.

Stamps: Stampin Up retired Mini Medley, SU Circle of Friendship sentiment, Misc quilt block stamp

Cardstock: yoyo yellow, brilliant blue, GP white

Ink: brilliant blue sentiment, blocks colored with prisma's, ducks with yy yellow and orange beak.

Misc: Cuttlebug bubbles embossing folder, yellow flower brads, every SU circle punch from 1 3/8 down to 1/2 inch size, dimensionals, paper piercer

From Courtney's Closet Challenge #4

I made this card for my second From Courtney's Closet Challenge (#4). I chose to focus on the flower on her outfit and the fact that she is such a sweet little baby girl!

The flower, stem, leaves as well as the sentiment are on dimensionals also. After I took this picture I decided it would have been nice to have some paper piercing on it, but too late tonight! Time for this girl to head off to bed!

Stamps: Stampin' Up So Much (the background flower), Very Punny for the sentiment, Stampabilities House Mouse Naptime.

Cardstock: Celery,Pink and misc DP

Ink: celery and black, chalk on stem and leaves, prismas

Misc: Signo pen, Large and Small SU oval punches, Creative Memories circle cutter(so I could let the tail to "hang out" LOL), Mega scallop punch, fancy scissors to cut the curvy stem, SU 5 petal flower punch (to make the leaves) whew that's a lot of punches

I made this card for Libby's Little Addiction challenge. It is her weekly "From Courtney's Closet" challenge. (FCCC#3) It is based on her little girls outfit. I think this is such a cute idea.

I didn't manage to get in any blue...but this was my first challenge and I wanted to use green :). I used some pink grid DP and stamped cherries in Mellow Moss and Rose Romance randomly all over. I used my new Martha Stewart scallop punch for the white lace strip! Her punches work so nice!

Cardstock: Rose Romance, Mellow Moss, Wall mart white, misc grid DP
Ink: Rose Romance, Mellow Moss
Misc: Nesties, Martha Stewart Punch, mellow moss ribbon and dots and dashes ribbon from Michaels, signo pen
Stamp Sets: Retired sets Very Cherry and Fruity Phrases

Tart and Tangy Birthday Treats

A quick birthday card and birthday gift for my friend and coworker, Linda E! I used SU real red and old olive cardstock as well as Georgia Pacific white cardstock...(we call it Wallmart White because that is where we have to buy it) I used my new Tart and Tangy stamp set (Stampin Up!) as well as some misc DP with cherries on it. The jar was purchased at IKEA and was priced at 4 for $2.99! These are great for quick gifts.
The jar can sit straight up or also tilts. Both Linda and I work at Oregon Cherry Growers, so this set is so appropriate! I love anything with cherries on it!

I sent my red scallop punch through my swiss dots cuttlebug folder to give it some texture, and used my nestabilities for the larger circle and olive scallop. I used my 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 SU punches also. The ribbon is also SU. Wow, what nice texture and feel it has.

I have a few new posts coming your way...one with my circle word made into a card...now to try to remember how I did it again LOL...It will come back to me Charla.

Cuttlebug and SU punches Mothers Day card

This is my 2008 Mother's Day card that I made for the favorite Mothers in my life.

I layered Stampin Up punches to make the flower. I used More Mustard ink to shade the So Saffron paper used in the flower and the card elements. I also used some DP from the SU sample pack I got a long time ago for matting and for the green punched center of the flower.

I used my cuttlebug folders as well as the scorepal to make the embossed lines

Cardstock: Celery and So Saffron, SU designer Paper
Ink: More Mustard and Black
Punches: 5 petal flower, snow blossom, boho blossoms(the middle flower)
Stamps: retired SU sentiment
Misc: ribbon from Amuse I bought during a stamp convention, Making Memories brad, Swiss dots cuttlebug folder and another one I can't remember its name, Scorepal

One of a Kind

I cased all of these cards from SCS. I was having a hard time getting started with this set, so I wanted a jump start. I found some talented ladies that made some great cards. I may have changed each just a wee bit, but not enough to call them my design.

The first was designed by Jami...yes the famous SCS Jami. I would never had put these colors together, but they look so great. I think she was following a color challenge or something. I used my creative memory circle cutter and also my nestabilities on this one, with a little red crystal in the center of the design. The colors are real red, not quite navy and bashful blue. I also reinked my real red stamp pad with the rose red reinker while making this card...argghhhhhhhhh. I hate that when I get tired and dumb...

The second card was cased from mmbc on SCS using pink and SU designer papers. This card has maybe 7 layers on it, and is oh so pretty.

The last one cased from zoeyjack02, also off of SCS. You can't tell it much from the picture, but I used the linen background stamp on the pink cardstock and also on the white cardstock. It added some nice texture that doesn't show in pictures.

All of these cards are quite pretty IRL. I am still learning the photo op part of this, so please bear with me.
