Words in a circle!

how to make words in a circle

I am fairly computer challenged, so it took me a long time to "figger" this out. This blogger' instructions made the difference! Now if I can remember how to make them the next time LOL!

EDITED 5-31-2008

After you make your circle words...double click on your circle, hold down the shift key and you can resize the circle to any size you want! My daughter just showed me that trick. If you pull and try to resize without doing this, your perfect circle goes wonky!

Gwamma's glasses

I just got home from visiting my little grandson Cole. He is 9 months old and changing by the minute! He was fascinated by Gramma's glasses but made funny faces when Gwamma let him wear them...what a funny little boy!

He likes to share his toys with his pug doggies and likes them to share their toys with him...YUCK!(and he hates green beans mixed with chicken)

He is such a joy. I just wish Gwamma lived close enough to see him everyday! I do visit him on the webcam several times a week though! What a lifesaver!

He got his lashes from his mama...

Grandma Heidi's Brag Book

I made this brag book for my Stamping Sister Heidi! She makes such wonderful works of art and sends them to me! My stamping room and desk are all decorated with her cards.

I saw this book made on Angie's Stampin' Academy. You can find her video tutorial here. It was so easy to follow her directions. I did use my fiskar cutter to cut the page creases as I am not sure I trust myself with those sharp little knives LOL.
I used designer paper made by Bella Press.
I bought this paper at a stamp convention from the De'Nami booth and have been saving it for just the right project..and it looks so cute in this brag book.

Angie's tutorial is so easy to follow. Of course I thought I should change a few things and then found out why I shouldn't have. Do not put glue dots on the back near the back binding to close up the spine part of your book, if you do that, the book will not open up and lie flat...just ask me how I know that!

I used my new square nestablities that I bought from cut@home. Great deals! Be sure to sign up for their monthly 40% off coupon. You may have to be patient to get your nesties as they are in such demand...but the wait is worth it.

I used misc pink and green SU cardstock as well as my new Penny Black Zoo animal set. I just bought this set from hmstamps. It is one of their new clear sets. I am a diehard red rubber girl, but I did fine stamping with these acrylics.

I also used misc embellishments and punches to decorate all the little pages...so much fun. I can't wait to make a grandson book.

Heidi, I hope you enjoy this as much as I have enjoyed all of your artwork, we truly are Stamping Sisters!

A new Heidi Gruffie RAK!

What a wonderful mail day! Heidi told me she was sending me a special Gruffie RAK so I have been watching my mail. This treat arrived today!

She made this neat bookmark using the new House Mouse Gruffie stamp. The Gruffies are available at hmstamps.

Heidi, I love the saying! The interesting part of this bookmark is the green background...it's fabric! I'm going to have to give that a whirl.

Thanks again Miss Heidi for sharing your amazing talent with me!!!!!!!!

Snickers Salad

No stamping here!

I belong to a cookbook club through our local scrapbook store, Picture Patch. They have a wonderfully talented staff.
The class is instructed and all pages designed by Jill McHale. Each year is a different food category. One year was APPETIZERS and one was COOKIES too.
This years class will focus on SALADS. The first class I took was CHOCOLATE. If anyone knows me very well...they know that I am stuck on cookies, so I think that year was my favorite.

I am not much of a scrapper, but I do get some fun inspiration from Jill's designs as well as some tasty treats. She makes up the recipe each month and brings it for her official taste testers/students! It is a nice evening of scrapping, tasting and visiting. I think this is my 4th year!

This is truly a wonderful salad, give it a try!

Heidi's Bookmark RAK

Heidi, Heidi, Heidi...you have outdone yourself girl....!!!!!!!!!!!! Another Heidi original arrived at my home this week. This girl is one stamping wonder I tell you! (and I still have more "Heidi's" to post too-stay tuned!)
This card is a triple fold card(I am not sure if that is the original name or not) and each pocket holds an embossed bookmark as well as a personal note. The front medallion on the card is also embossed in white as well, giving this card a neat texture too.

Heidi used what looks like celery SU (?) DP as well as some SU sets. I could be wrong...but this is a great card. Thanks Heidi...I am running upstairs to stamp you something in return! LOL

It is suppose to be 100 degrees here today, so I hope I don't melt before I can get my air conditioner working(it quit last night darn it!)

Cuttlebug and SU punches Mothers Day card

This is my 2008 Mother's Day card that I made for the favorite Mothers in my life.

I layered Stampin Up punches to make the flower. I used More Mustard ink to shade the So Saffron paper used in the flower and the card elements. I also used some DP from the SU sample pack I got a long time ago for matting and for the green punched center of the flower.

I used my cuttlebug folders as well as the scorepal to make the embossed lines

Cardstock: Celery and So Saffron, SU designer Paper
Ink: More Mustard and Black
Punches: 5 petal flower, snow blossom, boho blossoms(the middle flower)
Stamps: retired SU sentiment
Misc: ribbon from Amuse I bought during a stamp convention, Making Memories brad, Swiss dots cuttlebug folder and another one I can't remember its name, Scorepal

One amazing Mom!

To view a blog and video of one of the most amazing new mothers click here.

Confessions of a CF Husband is a blog that follows the journey of Tricia, Nate and their new baby and Tricia's subsequent lung transplant.

Tricia has Cystic Fibrosis and discovered she was pregnant right before her lung transplant. She risked her life for this pregnancy and gave birth around 24/25 weeks or so. Tricia has just had her lung transplant after Gwenyth was born.

A Little Piece Of Quiet

I made this card for my daughter's first Mother's Day! Her son, Cole, now going on 9 months, is not known for being the quietest little boy. He loves the sound of his own voice and does a lot of talking and practicing. He has been "kicked" out of several meetings he has attended with his Mama LOL. (Not really , but that's what we tell him.)

I have always loved this Penny Black stamp. I bought it from Dick at hmstamps.
It was colored with Prisma's and I used a sizzix diecut frame and a SU heart punch.

The arm, scissors, boot and bird have a second layer that are attached with dimensionals.
The cardstock is real red and bashful blue. I also used a retired background stamp from SU.

Inside of Heidi's Slider Card

Just in case you were wondering how the inside of Heidi's slider card worked, here's a view of the card open. When you pull the ribbon on the top of the card...the top section will slide up on the slits cut on the top panel of the card. Pretty simple when you see it! Makes an impressive card!

A Heidi Fleetwood Creation

I received this card from my cyber stamping friend Heidi. This girl is so darn good...plus her cards always seem to have some humor in them.

This card is a pull up card and if you look very close at the top card, you can see where she cut "tracks" and inserted the flower brads. The open prongs on the brads keep the card on track.

I have to try making one of these cards. If you follow my webshots link listed on the right of my blog, you will see an album that is just for Heidi's creations. I always look forward to what comes in the mail from her!

Sally Hatcher House Mouse RAK

I received this card from my dear stamping friend Sally. I met her on the MWS yahoo group and pointed her to our yahoo house mouse group.

The rest is history! She also sent me some Fluffle images that I can't wait to color up. Thanks Sally! (I bet you didn't realize you made this card in the colors of the University of Oregon! Go Ducks!!!) I didn't think I needed this cuttlebug folder until I saw your card. Isn't that how it always goes?

Cuttlebug and ScorePal card

This card was inspired by all the wonderful cuttlebug cards out there, but specifically Heart Prints site.

This lady has always been an inspiration, especially when I found all of her house mouse cards years ago, but she has really outdone herself and inspired me to give these types of designs a whirl. You must see her stuff!

I used a different cuttlebug folder on each end of the white cardstock. I then took the cardstock to my Scorepal and could easily eyeball where to place the straight embossed lines. The ribbon is Stamping Up and I lightly chalked the little birdy near the top of the card. For some reason, every time I tied the bow on this dang card, it kept coming out upside down, so I had to finally turn the card upside down and tie it so it would look right...it is still a little "doinky" but it is not upside down by golly.

These cards are fast to make and look so elegant. I love my cuttlebug folders!

One of a Kind

I cased all of these cards from SCS. I was having a hard time getting started with this set, so I wanted a jump start. I found some talented ladies that made some great cards. I may have changed each just a wee bit, but not enough to call them my design.

The first was designed by Jami...yes the famous SCS Jami. I would never had put these colors together, but they look so great. I think she was following a color challenge or something. I used my creative memory circle cutter and also my nestabilities on this one, with a little red crystal in the center of the design. The colors are real red, not quite navy and bashful blue. I also reinked my real red stamp pad with the rose red reinker while making this card...argghhhhhhhhh. I hate that when I get tired and dumb...

The second card was cased from mmbc on SCS using pink and SU designer papers. This card has maybe 7 layers on it, and is oh so pretty.

The last one cased from zoeyjack02, also off of SCS. You can't tell it much from the picture, but I used the linen background stamp on the pink cardstock and also on the white cardstock. It added some nice texture that doesn't show in pictures.

All of these cards are quite pretty IRL. I am still learning the photo op part of this, so please bear with me.
