Thoughts and Prayers

A dear friend lost his mother unexpectedly on New Years Day so I made a Sympathy card for him and an extra to have on  hand.  Always a tough card to have to make, but so important to give. This Stampin Up set-Thoughts and Prayers- is so classy...love it. Actually, this whole card is SU!

I actually made two versions, but not on purpose. I was stamping away and dropped the inside sentiment stamp on the bottom of one of my prepared front panels. What's a girl to do then...IMPROVISE! I cut off the "offending" ink smear and added a pretty little scallop so the front piece would fit my already cut card base. I actually liked that one better!

Stayed tuned for a couple of fun cards this week...a great  3 Clovers Challenge as well as a fun surprise on Friday! Stay tuned!

Card Details:

Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers by Stampin' Up!

Cardstock: Basic Black, Kraft, Very Vanilla, and Bella Blue DP.

Hi Sue,
thanks for the lovely comments, the paper I am using is from an office supply store and comes in pkgs of 250 pages. It is 100lb so it is nice to work with. It cost about $40. a pkg but they had it for $1.00 a pkg. I can not pass up a good deal so I had to have it but they only had brown, blue and yellow. So now that is what I am using to try out all my new svg cuts. The puppy here is about 5" but can be cut at any size. I just love the sure cuts alot program. I will have to check out the blog you got the box from. Let me know if you need any more info. I don't tend to put it on the blog because I am lazy. lol

Sue! You've done an extraordinary job and a tough theme. These couldn't be more special. Isn't it interesting how a little ink smudge can inspire?

They're both beautiful, Sue. I do love the one with the scallop. Very clever. I need to have some of those on hand too. TFS!

Sad but necessary cards I agree and you've done them so beautifully and very elegantly Sue. Love how you recovered from your little accident, I seem to spend most of my time doing that :D. Chris :)

Gosh, so often my goofs wind up making a better or more interesting card. I guess it forces me to go that extra step. I love both of your cards -- the first with it's clean lines, which work so well as a masculine card, and the second one with that little touch of femininity from the big scallops. The colors are very soothing.

Both of the cards are amazing! And I like how you added scalloped edge to the second! Really like a cute bow on the first!
