Penny Black Saturday Challenge April. Sunshine in the Rain

Fresh Spring Colors

For my sweet little bear card today I used this stamp:

Sunshine in the Rain 40-058
and
          Special Thoughts (sentiment)

I dug out my SU! water color crayons and stamped on some Tim Holtz media paper. Not so sure I liked the paper as much as 'normal' water color paper, but wanted to give it a try just for fun.  It was fun to get out some of the older tools and use them again!  The card base cardstock is SU! and the DP is a Teresa Collins designer pad.  The image stamp was new to me, but seems to be hard to find now. I have linked to ebay. AND...as always, Penny Black sentiment sets are wonderful!   The card base is a cut file from the Silhouette store that I enlarged to 5x7 ish to accommodate the large stamped image.  In the end I decided to cut out the image and add to the card with pop dots. (I love my scan n cut for that!)

I think when you think of fresh spring colors you think pastels, but hey I went with more yellows and blues to mimic the spring sunshine and rains.  It was pouring rain this morning, but I hope this afternoon the sun makes an appearance!

Happy Spring!

Pure sweetness! I love yellow and blue together. Add this darling bear and little ducky, a polka dot background... too adorable! As you probably know, I've been enjoying my WC Wonder crayons and wish I'd bought all the colors. Looks like these might be the brights. I only have Regals and Earth. The mixed media paper gives watercolor kind of a cool watery look, but it can be tricky. You did an awesome job on this, Sue!
