Remodelholic WOYW?W

My Poor neglected desk. I have not crafted on it for almost a month-seems to have turned in to a dumping ground right now. I have been hanging downstairs on my desk there. I need to CLEAN! Now that harvest is over, I have absolutely NO excuse!

It has been a long day here... I have been sitting in a hospital all day today waiting the outcome of some news about my brother's surgery. Although any diagnose with the letter "C" in it is never good, he came through the surgery like the tough fellow he is and we are all thankful to have this part of his fight behind him. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

I forgot to show you the card I made for him for his birthday last month. Our family is crazy about antique cars, so this year my Dad asked me to make cards for all my brothers that feature their style of car they each own.  (I have 4 older brothers YIKES!)

My son found this print of a 50's Chevy and even photoshopped it to the color of my brothers' car...so cool. Darn it-I forgot to take pics of the other 2 I have made this summer. One more brother to go and I will have made a car card for them all! My Dad is just tickled to give these to them.

Now for the remodelholic part of this post. My Sweetie is refurbishing a bathroom and since I have become an avid follower of Pinterest and all the cool ideas's out there-I decided to try a few spray painting tricks. We thought maybe we could update the hardware and light fixture by spraying it with nickel spray paint. Coat one is on and it is working like a charm! Very fun. Another coat and they should be updated and ready to install on the cabinet that we are spray painting too. We just have to wait for the wind to die down so we can go back outside and spray again. We decided we could either buy a whole new cabinet or first try the painting trick to see how it looks. So far, so good!!!

Well I am off to hit the pillow early...too tired to think  straight tonight. Take a peek at Julia's wild desk today...looks so much like mine!

Night to you all my friends!

Well, Your desk looks like mine right now. I'm embarrassed to say this because I just updated my craft room a few months ago. I realized that I do not have enough storage, so I am in the process of painting a bookcase to put in the room. Hope it helps. Your post topic (remodeling) caught my attention because that has been us this last year. We are almost done, I am tired of cleaning up sawdust and plaster dirt, and all the painting. Not completely done, but the budget is and so is the fortitude...(for now anyway). I rather be making cards...smile.
I like your car card reminds me a car we used to own (Yes, I am old...I admit it!) smile. Happy painting and cardmaking to you...Jill

We are going to do the same thing with our outdoor lights. Painted the house and the old lights....well let's just say that they looked outdated (21 years old). So.....I'm going to paint them black instead of the brass.

Yep, the minute you don't have time to craft, the desk becomes a catch-all! Loving the remodelling idea - those cabinet pieces have really covered well. We wanna see the fitted finish!

So much going on! Sometimes it is good to know that you aren't the only frazzled one around--I meant me but just so's you know you're in good company. I love how it is going on the bathroom remodel. I would love just a paint job on mine but I don't have that kind of energy. Or time! And then after I painted I'd probably want something else like new knobs and racks... so we'll just keep it status quo. You're poor desk! I hope you can get back to it soon!

I'm glad to hear your brother is doing well. Yes, I HATE the C word. I have too many friends and family that have had a fight with it.

Your card looks great! I love the two tone color of the car.

You should link up to Project Pinterest over at Sandee's blog (In The Hills of North Carolina). It's fun -- and I agree, I'm addicted to pinterest!!

SO sorry to hear of your brother's health issues - but I'm sending those prayers and good thoughts for a complete recovery.
I LOVE the muscle card card! Those old Chevy's are the best!

My craft table looks pretty similar to yours! Hope your brother is doing well, take care!

Good luck with all the refurbs!
Will keep your brother in prayer - and your whole family as it must be a terrible thing to have on your mind. That's without mentioning your hearts.
Don't worry about that craft table, it will get sorted eventually.
Mine is a big mess today and likely to stay that way.
Hugs, Neet xx

WOW that looks like a busy desk. I am trying to get better about keeping the desk cleaned up but when orders come in it is hard to separate them out and get it all organized. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. Vickie #114

Sending hugs and positive vibes to you and your brother...keeping positive will help in the battle, it did with my brother. Mind you, 4 brothers!! Blimey, I though I had it bad with 2!! It was like having three dads when I was little, but it toughened me up, that's for sure!
I like getting a new look for not much cash, you'll have to show us the finished result :D

Wow...that's awesome! How did the cabinets come out? Are they wood or formica? We have some cabinets in the closets that are formica and thinking of painting them but....chicken!
