I'm on a mission to use some of the meecie stamps that I have that have never seen ink! I have a few that I bought and just not inked them yet! Imagine that!

This cutie I stamped and cut out with the Spellbinders Postage die set. Gotta love that one! 

I colored quickly with copics and then used a Picket Fence stencil. I think it is named Lots of Blossoms. I did find it for sale HERE and HERE (closing July 31). I used the nice little Spellbinders stencil brushes that allow you to carefully stencil right up to the image without masking your image. It worked slick! 

One sentiment comes with the stamp set and the You Rule! sentiment comes from a retired Art Impressions -Teachers Rule.

Happy Easter! Art Impression Chicks

Happy Easter!!!

I made several different versions of these Easter cards. 

I stamped the Art Impressions chicks on different  polka dot papers and then cut them out with the dies that came with the set. The little blue upside down chick is also on an Action Wobble that came from Art Impressions. I didn't have to even get my Scan N Cut out! All the chicks are on pop dots except my crazy little chick. 

The card top background was cut with my new Penny Black slimline zig-zag die.  The die is just a wee bit longer than my Big Shot cutting plate so I had to do some fancy foot work to get that last bit to cut just right! Washi tape to the rescue. I Probably the only time I use my Washi tape!

 I added the background color with oxide inks and Gina K blending brushes.  I also used a darkroom door small honeycomb stencil on several cards.  (I think it can easily pass for chicken wire) . The Happy Easter sentiment was preprinted from Simon Says and the stamped sentiments were from Jaded Blossoms. Card size is 3.5x8.5. 

I'm entering these in the Art Impression flower challenge.

Art Impressions Birthday Fishes

You know sometimes you don't have to re-invent the wheel...

I saw this card design made by Karen Day and had to case it!  It was the perfect birthday card for my Father-In-Law. He looks forward to my cards every year...and is quite the fisherman! It will also make  a great Father's Day card!

I didn't like my knock off version at first-, because Karen's is so awesome. But it has come to grow on me and now I love my version too! It was fun to draw in a scene around an image.

My New Workshop-A special surprise!

Country Village Tall House Box

I made this box designed by My Scrap Chick for my Dad's birthday a while back and forgot to take a picture-so I stole it back to get one. He made sure I brought it back to him though. He loves all my little paper projects I make for him-he has them all lined up on display. :)

This paper house was fashioned after my new 'Sue Shed' that he built me this year. (story below) Of course it was filled with his favorite treats too-Werthers!  

My Carpenter is a stamp from Art Impressions- Week End Warrior. Sharing with the Art Impressions Embellishment Challenge. 

The Workshop Story

This last year has been a tough year for my family. My Mother died in the fall 2017 and we were all feeling lost this last year. 

My Dad-Bless his heart! He is 88 and is just an amazing man. After my Mom passed he started this project without telling me. He built this little She Shed (10x14) in his big workshop at home and then  moved it down to my place with a crane and a big ole' forklift! The planning that this involved! I hear it was a tight squeeze to get it out of the shop doors. Good thing I have lots of brothers, nephews and friends that helped out as well!

My Dad is someone that always needs to keep busy, so the timing of this project was a blessing in that it kept him busy and occupied while he adjusted to life without his wife of 68 years. He has this BIG list of things he wants to make. He has even built a log cabin on his property-felling the trees and skinning them for the project. Of course he is the idea man and has lots of helpers in our family too, but he has the visions!

When I was gone on vacation this spring he brought down the Sue Shed and left it as a suprise. He and my brother Tom have been watching the garage sales and stocking it with all sorts of tools this summer. 

I am a winter wood worker so I am looking forward to crafting many Christmas projects in here. Typically Dad helps me with my projects, but as he gets older, it is getting harder for him to tolerate the long hours, cold, snow etc that  happens when we are working on our projects. He has me set up now!

In years past, my Mom and Dad would build a big fire in the woodstove in their huge workshop up on the hill and we would woodwork and visit away the day. One project day we were sawing and nailing away and by the time we looked out, we were buried under about 18 inches of snow! Those are some of my most treasured memories. My Dad has displayed most of the wood projects up on his shop wall that we have made over the years. 

Now to know my Dad better-he actually salvaged all this! The windows, the siding, the roofing, the lights! It took him months to build and then he finished the  inside once it was on site.

 Not put together yet, this was right after the move-It looks better now.

I colored these crazy girls with copics and cut them out with my Scan N Cut 2. I added the girls onto the card with a full size Action Wobbler-which makes them drive around like crazy! Everything else is cut out with my Silhouette and added to a blue base-just keeping it simple.

Fishing Bait

Happy Birthday 

I made this card a while back...for a special birthday.  Perfect for that die hard fisherman!

Man Fishing  designed by Miss Kates Cuttables # 40580(Silhouette Store) and a wave file from the store.

Sentiment is from the Art Impressions stamp set Reel Great Guys #4900. This is an awesome stamp set-especially with Father's Day coming soon. I can't wait to color up the images...super fun!

Under My Umbrella - We'll always be friends!

I have had this stamp forever..Just one of the first Girlfriends is my guess! Most of my Ai images are unmounted, but this is a wood mount I bought many years ago...loved them from way back then!

I stamped and colored the Girlfriends in different layers...the two middle girls on the bottom layer, the second layer has the two outside girlfriends and the third layer is the paper pieced umbrella! Looks difficult but actually pretty easy. I mounted all the layers on an embossed card base and tied some twine on the top of the card.

The sentiment panel was cut with a Lawn Fawn stitched die. 

 I actually cut the sentiment stamp apart because I thought I would use is more that way.

I don't know too many people who have not been touched by Breast Cancer...whether it be through Family, Friends, Co-Workers or someone who knows someone. I know first hand the struggles that cancer survivors go through...my Mother beat this cancer...over 25 years ago!!!  She is a survivor!

Backyard Boss-- Art Impression Stamp

Doesn't this "Boss" look like he is on a mission to find that very last leaf and blow it away with his powerful machine?  Too funny!

 Actually, I used a leaf blower last weekend to clean off my deck and sidewalks...and I am in love!!! That is one wonderful machine!

I used a tree card file from the Silhouette store for my backdrop, and then added the sentiment  "The Backyard Boss" at the top with pop dots. Notice the O on his hat...for Oregon Ducks!!!


Tip: when cutting out your image, turn your image(paper) instead of 'steering' with your scissors. You have so much more control that way.

Art Impression Gordon Golfer-Father's Day

I had so much fun making this card!

 I enlarged the little golf cart from a small embellishment piece on a box card purchased from the Silhouette Store. I did an offset of the cart on my Silhouette to make the card base. I also cut a piece of cloud paper to adhere to the front of the card base. I also cut a piece of green "grass" with a  my Lawn Fawn hill die to mimic a rolling golf course green!  The golf cart was added on pop dots and then Mr. Gordon was added on top of the card on pop dots as well.  I love Gordon's stylin' golf attire-don't you?

Inside is the companion sentiment that comes with the set--- Always golf with extra socks, in case you get a hole-in-one!

Hi Hunny Bunny and Lucky Ducky!

 Here are a couple cute little cards I made for the Art Impressions Make and Take at my local stamp store-Urban Paper last week.  I love those little critters peeking out! This is a cute front and back set from Art Impressions.  Again, it does come with a matching die to cut them out, but I don't have those darn it! I chose to cut them out close to the lines and line them up-old style LOL.  I cut out the card base with my Silhouette and used a couple dies from Inspiration Emporium/Lawn Fawn for the grass and ground.  I used a new little Impression Obsession flower die-it cuts out like a gazillion flowers with one cut-love it! The card base is a pretty powder  blue polka dot from Bo Bunny.   (Unfortunately, the pictures below do not show the pretty blue of the cardstock so I took a couple outside today)

These little cards are sized at 3x4 so they are perfect for a quick little note! I must say...I made a bunch of these because they are so darned cute!
