Penny Black Surprise! 2890F(retired)
Picket Fence Shadow of Leaves Stencil
Won't you join us for our new June challenge! Celebrating Birthdays!
I am using a long retired but classic stamp that always makes me smile! I stamped it and masked it to stencil over it. This fun little chicken cracks me up. The sentiment says:
This is not at Belated Birthday Greeting
I'm making sure to be first to wish you a
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
for next year.
Do you ever have this happen to you? I made a second card out of my "practice" stenciling. I used my original Spellbinders pinked edge dies and overlapped them. When I went to put the sentiment on it from the Penny Black Strength clear sentiment set...I popped both stamps off so I could finish the card. This is a two part sentiment. It should say Wishing You...Strength. And by golly I can't find the "Wishing You" clear stamp. I am sure it is stuck somewhere. I'll finish this one when I find it! DRATS!

Lovelovelove this chicken in the stenciled leaves! Someone once told me Penny Black never retires stamps, but I'm not sure about that. There are a few I need to look up. The chickens and frogs are definitely favorites. Both your cards are so dang cute! I lost a whole stamp set once and found it about a year later in a folder of colored cardstock. By then I didn't want it anymore and put it in the purge pile, sheesh.
ReplyDeleteAwww love these cards with my old time PB favorite! I loved that you didn't stencil the whole thing with the color but lighter in the center, so that you could stamp over the stenciling, and colored the image! So cute! Yes, I hear you. I OFTEN lose a part/piece of clear stamps cuz well, I have an excuse that my work space is so small (CUZ OF THE MESS
ReplyDeleteI make...!lol) and stick to everywhere, and lose them! Remember that it never happened when we only had WOODmounted rubber stamps?? LOL Oh, thank you for leaving some love on my blog! <3
Oh what a super fun card Sue! Love the little duck peeking through the rushes and the great stencil background! Such a clever design! :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards Sue! A very effective design and gorgeous colours! I often lose stamps - I think my dogs me have eaten some of them!
ReplyDeleteI love this card Sue, it's so bright and cheerful :) xxx
