Playing with my Silhouette!
I have a couple days of vacation so I am finishing up some wrapping for my parents. My parents are in their 80's and given all the happenings of 2014, they have not had the energy for the holiday projects they normally do, but they oh so love to give "a little something" to each grandchild, great grand child and GREAT GREAT grandchild! (over 40 and counting)Yes, we have a big family! This year I shopped for them on Black Friday sales mostly at Penny's and got these lovely kraft gift boxes along with the purchases.
My Mom usually does her own wrapping, but this year I told her I would take care of it. Here's my plan ---LOL...use the lovely kraft boxes, add some fancy, shiny wire ribbon and a fun snowflake alphabet from Miss Kates Cuttables as the name tags. Mom will add the pretty ribbon and bows to the wrapped little kids packages once they get to her house! I wish I had time to add to the krafty boxes a touch of greenery , but hey-I'm done for this year!
Now on to more daily projects. This plan fit right in with my goal of simplifying this year...less decorations, fewer cookies and easier annual Christmas project! OH---I forgot to show you that...I will get pics and show you my Pinterest barnwood trees soon!
I hope you enjoyed this peek inside my Christmas!

Wow...I love what you did and didn't know Penny's was giving those boxes out. We only have 2 boys with one married and we were told that no gifts would be exchanged...even for the grandbaby...put money in college fun. Our 20 year old says...bring on the gifts so he will be the only one to have a few gifts under the tree. Well...that gives me more time to make cookies and soups and frozen dinners.....everyone likes to sneak into my freezer and steal goodies. I'm thrilled that you have your mom to share in the Christmas joy with all the kids.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the look of the packages with the pretty monogram. What a fabulous idea! You're a good daughter. We have a very small family. Seems none of the offspring reproduced. It does make it easier, but, of course, we have our extended family.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have been really busy! Our family is small and we don't exchange gifts so I was able to spend time making cards and decorating the house.
ReplyDeleteWell you have been busy! That's a lot of gifts! Love how you used the snowflake monogram on the boxes!
ReplyDeleteFabulous well done, they look great. Merry Christmas, love Jane x
