House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge-Monochromatic #154

Yes... there is a story behind PHINNEY!

Phinney is one of those little blankets that is made for little ones to carry around so they don't have to carry a big blankey. Little Lukey (aka Gwamma's baby boy even though he is 3) has had this Horton Hears A Who blankey since he was a baby and still sleeps with "Phinney". Near as we can tell, Phinney was his way of saying elephant-but who can be sure???  Regardless-Phinney's name has stuck, even if we are guessing on the spelling LOL!!!   Heaven help us if Phinney goes missing!! I found another Phinney a while back and bought him as a back-up. Here he is sharing his other  "Phinney" with Great-Granny Jo during a recent visit! He is pretty protective of Phinney, so this is a big deal!

Now on to our challenge...

Our monochromatic challenge is hosted by Kate today!

  1. Awe. Very sweet story. My boy is 7 now and still has to sleep with his Froggie. Last year, Froggie went missing for 5 months (turns out, he was in the camper the whole time). Things were pretty crazy, and mama broke down and found a similar Froggie that Jack sleeps with and has named appropriately "Froggie 2". Now, he sleeps with Froggie 1 and Froggie 2 plus 2 frog pillow pets. Your little boy may keep Phinney for a long, long time. :)

  7. My daughter had her blankalee. It was sort of a morph. Her name was Leah. So we would say something like "Here is your blanket, Leah" and it soon became Blankalee. ;-) Great card cut.

  13. Hi, Sue! It's past my bedtime, and you are my last blog to catch up on for the day. This darling little card with the yawning bear has made me yawn twice so far, since arriving at your blog. Too funny! I must really be tired. I especially like the dark blue "halo" around the image, and your "baby boy" cut out. Beautiful card - but please, no more yawning characters - oh my! I'm yawning ago! Why are yawns so contagious! Sweet Dreams my sweet Oregon friend! hugs, de
