Ah...not much time to craft this week or next...wedding preparations in full swing...this is what I am doing tonight..............
Tonight is "practice wedding cake" night. I used to make lots of wedding cakes yyyeeeeeaaars ago and gave it up because I so loved the frosting that I gained about 5 pounds with each cake! LOL
I am thinking I need some more practice and also need to try a different frosting recipe just for the heck of it. (can I blame my dissatisfaction on the frosting???-it could not possible be lack of practice???) GOODNESS... I need to figure it out before next week!
My son is more than happy to eat the samples!
Since I am in the kitchen tonight...I thought you might enjoy this sign I have hanging under my cupboard. Yep, this is so me!
Pop on over and say Hello Julia and to all the crafters playing along...sorry I have not gotten to comment so much these last few weeks, but I promise I will be back to "normal" after 11-11-11!
OOh yummy cant wait to see the finished cake xxx
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the cake decorating.
ReplyDeleteYum yum.

I use to be a cake decorator too. I got into some wild cakes but by today's standards, mine were tamed. I can believe you are doing the wedding cake TOO. OMG! You're amazing. Thank you for sharing this special time with us and giving us sneak peeks.

ReplyDeleteI took cake decorating years ago and just couldn't deal with the greasy mess. Of course, things have improved much since then. Can I lick the beaters?
No, Charlene, I want to lick the beaters too!! LOL
ReplyDeleteYou're very brave doing the wedding cake, hope all goes smoothly :)

ReplyDeleteThat's a perfect sign for the kitchen, and I can relate!!! I can hardly wait to see some photos of all the great things you're making for the wedding!
ReplyDeleteI think you'll need a long break in the sun when this is all done! Love your kitchen sign.... reminds me of an Absolutely Fabulous episode where Edina was hating herself for being heavy and said "I know there's a skinny person in here just trying to get out" to which her old mum replied "Just the one dear??". Priceless!
