Yep, looks pretty bad huh? It is really not as bad as it looks. I have been trying to find a pattern for a wedding invitation...Have to make 200 in warp speed time and trying to come up with the final design is driving me crazy...
Suggestions anyone?
We have an idea and have been trying to figure out how design an svg cut file...not quite there yet and I don't have much more time to play around with it...patience running thin.
My daughter asked me if I had any envelopes we might use for the invites so I said sure!
Do I have enough envelopes?......I have these pretties...a whole drawer full here
and these...a big HUGE sack of envelopes and I have another big drawer full.... thousands of them dang things. I had a friend who used to rotate out of season cards off the store racks....do you know they used to return the cards and throw away all the envelopes? What a waste. She saved me some and I asked one of the stores to save me some as well. I now have enough to last a life time LOL! It is grand to just grab any envelope that makes me happy!
Now of course she will want the fancy schmancy wedding envelopes.............and off to the store we will go to buy envelopes.
If you have a few minutes, hop over and say Hello of Julia at What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday...and visit tons of fun workdesks along the way.
Have a good night...I am off to bed now!

Use a single stamp for the corner of all those different envelopes and then that'll link 'em together. Also, no-one will see other people's invitations probably, so different envelopes shouldn't matter?? On the other hand, I like things to match, so who am I to give advice!!! LOL xx
ReplyDeleteI must say you have a lot of envelopes. :) Good luck with the wedding invites. It's best to go with white and simple. I'm lots of help, ah ?! :)
ReplyDeleteI’ve not worked on any large wedding order for more than a year now and I can honestly say I haven’t missed doing them. It can be so stressful sometimes.
ReplyDeleteHope you get your template sorted soon and can then get started on making them.
Happy Crafting!

Wow, that's a lot of envelopes. I wouldn't worry about them matching. Most people wouldn't even notice what the envelope looked like.
ReplyDeleteIt's always when there's a hurry on that things aren't as easy as they should be. Argh, hope it all falls perfectly into place. Love the envelope rescue story!
ReplyDeleteOooh good luck with the invites - my OH calls me an Envelope Queen but I am sure you have more!
ReplyDeleteGreat post - love the story of the envelopes and I never knew they through them away! I can only say I'm glad it's not me that's doing those invites - good luck :) Elizabeth x #50
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing your work desk, I now feel more normal for mine looking the way it does. I swear sometimes they could find Jimmy Hoffa's body there! LOL Hope you are well. . .I keep seeing tons of cherries at my local grocer and I always think of you. Best, Curt
ReplyDeleteYikes, lol :) I wish I could leave mine like that hehehe Mine is the kitchen table so I can't :) Of course she'll want the envelopes you don't have :)
ReplyDeleteHi there, bit of flying visit from me today but just wanted to pop in and say Hi. Thanks for sharing your little corner of the world with us this week. Hope your creative journey this week is a good one! Yep, you sure have plenty of envelopes!
ReplyDeleteWow - ooodles of envies! I'm with the others that say they don't need to be the same - you only see theone you receive, anyhow! :0)
ReplyDeleteFor an idea of "fast to make", but stilla pretty invite - what a bout a one-layer on white card stock, embossed at bottom and a stamp on top? Maybe a small bow, button, or piece of lace to embellish? A little shimmer spray or gell pen to highlight some of the embossing? Just a suggestion!
Hey, lady! Congrats on your BC win on my blog...try the Cutting Cafe...Regina can custom design something for you very inexpensively.
ReplyDeletePhew ...you have a lot on your plate ... hope everything slots into place ....and the 200 invites materialize without not too much stress.
ReplyDeleteOh yes...what can a card-maker be without those dang envelopes!?!! LOL!!! Have a great night sweetie!! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great stash of envelopes! All those fabulous colors -- so cool! Too bad they won't work for your wedding project, but maybe you'll wind up with a few extras for your collection.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have hit the envie mother-load!!!!:) Hehehe!!! I recently had to do 150 renewal of vows invites in less than a week, so I definitely feel your pain! The things we do for our children (or in my case, the inlaws...but I adore their daughter and wouldn't say "I can't"). You are AMAZING at your craft, so I know without a doubt you will pull it off impeccably...even if you have to buy more envies!!!
ReplyDeleteSmiles & Hugs!!
Carolyn
Good luck with the invitations!
ReplyDeletewow, 200!! That's a lot! I thought 50 was enough, but that was early 90s', when i even didn't own the heat gun, and used the toaster oven for heat embossing, so that was even worse, for 50 invitation cards! But, again, 200 is a LOT!lol. I want to have a LIFE TIME LASTING Envelopes, too, Sue! lol :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a big wedding order!
ReplyDeleteHope this project will turn out wonderfully!
Wow 200 invites... you go girl! Look at all those pretty envelope colors, too bad your daughter didn't like any of those.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the wedding invite that you make, I'm sure it will be beautiful.
Hi Sue, got your Copic color
