WOYWW #92 and a little blog candy

A quick WOYWW tonight. I tried to make a quick card tonight after my bunco meeting...thought I had a cutie for you and then I got to looking at my 15 minute "start to finish" card...feeling pretty happy/smug with it when I noticed YIKES...the DP pattern was upside down....So, I tore it apart and gave up for the evening. Will give it another try when I am not so tired. I usually send cards like that to my daughter Erin, She tries to find where I messed up on it...sort of a Hide and Seek type card LOL!

Not much new this week. I did clean up this week, but this is my quick card desk frenzy. I am just not a quick card girl!  You can see a new envelope in the basket...some image RAK's from my friend and fellow WOYWW'er Charlene.  Thanks Charlene!

A quick peek at how I take my pictures. A nice little light box given to me as a gift. I don't know where it came from, sorry. It sure helps. I never worry about day light. I use a free photo editing program from Picasa...I love it..so very easy to use.

Here is the picture of the blog candy I will give out next week on my WOYWW post.  Some pretty My Minds Eye 6x6 Stella Rose Designer paper and some roses too. I bought a bunch of these flowers, and have discovered that I am just not the flower type...I do like paper flowers, but have never used my prima's or any flowers really, so I am  going to give them someone who knows how to use these lovelies!

Just leave me a comment here and let me know what stamping "thing/toy/stuff" you had to have, but have never used! If you are a follower you get an extra entry...be sure to let me know if you are a follower through google or feedblizt.
That's it. Done deal

  4. Good to read that I'm not the only one who has to clean up. And it's true. When you clean, you can't make any crafts. So, if you like, you can see my cleaning WOYWW. What I have never used? I bought some small canvas and I really want to try them but...a lot of other things passed my desk. Great idea for taking pictures! Bye Franka

  5. These are luuuurvely papers. Sorry about the DP - I would say - it doesn't matter - but I would do the same...hey ho. Bought loads of ribbon roses but then feel so guilty for not making my own. Just have to be mine So I just look at them or pull them apart and redesign them. Great giveaway!

  6. What a lovely gift for someone but please don't include me as I'm sure the paper crafters would benefit more from them. I am a hoarder and have lots I don't use but if I was to throw them away I know I would need them tomorrow :-)

  7. Great photo tool. I've been using natural light recently, again, because I don't have a very good set up otherwise. Well, let's see, I bought a set of Basic Grey files and have maybe used them twice.

  8. And since I'm a follower through Google (updates arrive on my Dashboard) I get a second chance for this beautiful paper and flower prize. One other tool I bought that was expensive was a Basic Grey punch that would punch half a circle or 3 other shapes that you could use as openers. I finally sold it on Ebay.

  10. Very creative desk. I don't have a light box but think I need one seeing all the great pics people get with them. I have a bunch of water color crayons that I bought that I just couldn't live without and I think I have only used them once. They weren't cheap either!!
    Thanks for sharing. Vickie #69

  11. A very busy and creative desk. As for buying craft stuff that we do not use - I think possibly PP's has to be the biggest weakness, especially the large pads!!
    Have a great WOYWW,

  12. Wow, Sue - I never realized you had so many Copics!!! Woooo, girl! :D
Awesome papers and flowers for the blog candy! I am already a follower via Google, and for my biggest "but-it-never-try-it".....well....that would be the HUGE light tracing box I bought WAAAAY back when! It's giant - I think it measures 18" x 24", or something. Not really sure what the heck I was thinking, but it is now collecting dust "somewhere" in my basement. hahaha!

  14. I have a light box as well that I never use. I would like to but I don't have the space for it...it is huge! I follow you in Google Reader, does that count?

  15. Wow...that light box - awesome. Will look into that. Love your workdesk with all those markers and ribbon and stuff.

  16. I use Picasa too, and have for over a year. I love it. And I use a light box that I kinda put together myself. So between the two, I get pretty good shots of my cards. The things that I bought but never used were brass stencils for hand embossing. Just had to have them, then discovered the Cuttlebug. Hope all is well! Best, Curt

  17. Looks like my desk did last week after a single card! I bought a Fiskars embossing board and templates, played about with it once, packed it up again and stuffed it behind my desk!! Pretty papers and flowers, I keep saying I'll make my own but I keep buying ready made ones instead! I'm already a follower (Racing Girl).

  20. Luved reading your post..,.I too am NOT a quick card kinda-gal....I don't use flowers either. I like them, but when I'm in the midst of a project frenzy, somehow using flowers NEVER crosses my mind...grrrrrrrrrrrr(LOL)
    Luv the light box.

What do I have that I don't use, well it's probably sizzix alphabets, bought in the sale so they were must haves but I make cards and rarely scrapbook so they never get used lol! hugs Rebekah xx 109

  25. Your light box is a nice neat looking one.I should invest in one really as the lighting is very bad at night to take pictures. What have I bought that I never use? Can't think of a darn thing sorry. Hugs Mrs A. #58

  26. Your desk looks so much like mine! (minus the huge Copic collection) I have a large table and seem to find myself working in a 1'x1' space all the time. How does that happen!? And whatcha got in the green bowl?! LOL
For me it was spray smooch. I had to buy it to try it, and I hate the stuff! You want it? It's yours! LOL

  29. My Minds Eye papers are fast becoming my favourites after getting some free with a mag, hope I can replace them! I use different coloured shoe boxes for photos and and the moment a large black, what was once a hat box and your crafty space looks fab ...should be going out Saturday evening with family for a meal! Very nice, but...I feel mean but... why not take me to a crafty shop instead! Have a happy woyww

  30. I have a homemade light box that I use every day. Light tent is on wish list for me!

  31. I just want to know what was in the green bowl that is on your desk? I am envisioning some sort of pasta salad and now I have to make some today because it's stuck in my head!

Where to begin on things I had to have but have never used....melting pot, craft iron, bottleS of Smooch, jarS of distress embossing powders... and the list goes on....

    ReplyDelete
  32. That paper looks like fun. I'm envious of your light box too; especially when we are on our 3rd cloudy day in a row. Thanks for dropping by my desk.

  33. Love your 'creative' desk! I have thought about a light box-saw how to make one not long back but didn't mark the site so don't know where now.

Love that dp pad!! I love paper, felt, crocheted flowers with buttons, but not the silk ones so much. I decided this shortly after I started crafting and just couldn't get them to look right on my cards. I seldom use my embossing powders either-although I like the look-need to drag them out more!

  35. I have always had good intentions of making my own flowers so I bought the set of tools to help you do that. Unfortunately with a full-time job and family I am lucky to get craft time some weeks so making my own flowers is not a top priority for me. I follow your blog through email. Thanks for all the inspiration!

  36. OMG..my work table looks like yours...it must be a sign of creativity!! Lets see what I have not used...I still have some unopened cricut carts...a bind it all and many stamps I have not used..Another sign...aaaaaaa craftaholic!!

  37. Wahoo for awesome blog candy and a fellow crafter with a desk that looks like mine! LOVE IT! I tend to pick up things all the time that I just have to have, yet never use. The current dusty tool is my Making Memories Slice. I convinced myself it would be the perfect compromise to a Cricut and treated myself to one complete with all accessories a year ago. I've never used it! Don't tell my husband - LOL. I'm also a follower of your AWESOMENESS through Google Reader - love to see your work.

  38. You are welcome sweet friend...I'm spending my time drooling over all your Copics....wowza. Glas to know someone else is pokey card maker. It can take me hours...

You know I follow you...you're my inspiration...what I just got that is not getting much use is L Letterpress starter kit...ick! The dies are flimsy, it's messy and not easy to accomplish a clean press unless you don't use ink. Thankfully, I didn't pay a LOT but enough.

  39. Nice blog candy. I have one of those light boxes and it looks like the same one. I purchased mine from CollectionEtc about 2 years ago, but you can get it on Amazon. I am a follower through Google.

  40. I already follow and I LOVE flowers and this paper pad, so I will keep my fingers crossed. Hmmm, what did I have to have that I have not used? I would have to say the vast majority of my $1.00 stamps. Pop by and see my blog candy too!

  41. I think I need a light box, my photos are not good at all, love all those pens xxx

  42. Oh, Sue, I am osrry that the card didn't com up the way you wanted. When I feel tired and feel like my card is not coming along, I also walk away and come back to it later or next day.
My husbnad bought me a whole set of different colors of Perfect Pearls, but I never used them. Hopefully one day I will find a use to them too! :)
Thank you for the yummy candy, Sue!

  47. Buttons!!! I love them on other peoples cards but they never seem to look right when I try to use them. So now I have some little cdontainers with very pretty buttons decorating my desk, LOL!!
Sorry to hear about the upside down paper incident, I have done the same thing myself more than once *blushes* it's so annoying!!

  51. Lovely blog candy and especially those flowers, they are gorgeous! I bought one of those stapler things that take FAT staples and it sits ignored on a shelf because I have never gotten a staple in straight with it!! ;)

I am late enough visiting that I saw your friends card and I think it is brilliant, she will love it!!

  52. Interesting desk this week - lots to peek at. I'd love one of the light boxes so if you ever remember the name/source it would be most helpful. What do I have that I had to have and never use? That's easy, it's an X-cut embossing punch for a snowflake. I can't work out how it's supposed to work, I haven't punched out one snowflake so far!! Elizabeth x #97
