House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #83 -Envelope Art!
I am back!!! I have been gone for several weeks, but it felt so good to get back into my crafty mode!
I so love to get mail that is all decorated up! I used one of my first House Mouse stamps...a big ole' original Stampa Rosa stamp called Having a Sleigh Ride. I inked up the bottom part of the stamp(the meeces) and then masked the stamp and inked up the branches to stamp in the corner. A quick color (if using copics, put some paper in the inside of the envelope so it does not bleed onto the back of your envelope), a few snowflakes and a little doodling and Viola!
My theory---No need to be too fussy with envelope art...someone is just going to rip it open anyway LOL!What I sometimes do for envelope art...after you have stamped your orignal image on to your cardstock, stamp again onto your envelope without re-inking. You will get a very light impression of the image you are making into a card...a perfect compliment to your card. The impression is so light you can easily add your address over it without any confusion.
We have a new sponsor for this challenge as well. Welcome to RK STAMPS! You can pick any House Mouse, Gruffie or Happy Hopper stamp of your choice if you are randomly chosen as the winner. I used to buy all my meece stamps from Dick at HM Stamps and then he changed to PB Stamps and went exclusive to Penny Black stamps. Ally at RK Stamps picked up the House Mouse line as well as Northwoods, Stampendous, Peanuts (Stampabilities). Great Impressions and Lockhart stamps.Great prices and wonderful customer service ! Stop by and say Hello to Ally-tell her Sue sent you!
Now dig out an envelope and let's see how you can decorate it up...No need to be too fussy, just have fun!

ReplyDeleteHi Sue, love this challenge! Your envie turned out so cute, love that stamp. My introduction to rubber stamping was a free class and the instructor showed us how to use part of the stamp from your card on the envie, even if we didn't color it, they matched. Thanks for the great challenge.
