You see, Mary changed the challenge while America was gone on a road trip moving across the country! We knew America would be having wonderful family time, but we are also sure.........she is missin' us as much as we are missin' her! Now, our sneaky little Mary has been busy with this surprise challenge and our own Sue Dree's is going to sponsor this challenge with a fun prize too! Come join the fun and wish America a very
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
You can wish America Happy Birthday by joining challenge #73 and making any type of birthday card with your meeces!
Easy and fun!!!
Here's the whole House Mouse Design Team wishing America a big Happy Birthday!
I chose to make this fun pop up card using lots of little meeces, individual stamps and misc little meeces from big stamps too. Do you recognize any of these Yaaaahoos? I was going to give each of the little meeces a DT name, but got sidetracked. My guess is that Mary is probably the one in the middle, waving innocently to America LOL!
You can find out how to make this fun pop up card and watch a video tutorial HERE on Valita's blog or HERE on this fun blog called Extreme Cards and Papercrafting. I used the extra pleat that is shown on Extreme Cards because there are a lot of us meeces and I knew I would need a little extra room to tuck us all in.
If you look real hard, you can see the thin strips of transparency holding up this group of characters and their cheese too. I had so much fun with this card...maybe a little too much because when you open this card...all the meece and cheese wiggle and dance like crazy! I did end up having to reinforce the flower stems with some transparency just to give them a little more strength so I wouldn't kill the petals with my constant opening and closing of this card.
One note, if you use the Extreme Card recipe, or use heavy cardstock for the inside insert, you will need to add a spine to the card like in the picture below. It all gets pretty thick and won't fold up nicely if you don't.
I hope you can join in the fun for challenge #73...let's all wish America a Happy Birthday and a safe trip!
Card details:
--------------------------------
Stamps: Oh way too many stamps to list LOL. All House Mouse individual mouse stamps or cut out meeces from big scene stamps. The cheese is two small stamps from Stamp by Judith,
Cardstock: Eggplant, Garden Green and Summer Sun from SU!, Misc DP
Ink: Memento Black, copics
Misc: Martha grass punch, transparency, Cricut and SCAL for all the lettering, heavy duty tape/glue, EK Success bubbles punch...I think this looks like cheese holes LOL.
