Introducing Baby Brudder Woot (aka Luke)

Luke (aka "Woot")  and Cole

Most of you know I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of grandson #2. Here he is!!

Luke Anthony
February 11th, 2010
10:19pm
7 lbs, 8oz
19.5 inches long

Last Thursday I was happily starting new projects and  finishing other Valentine projects around 9 pm when my daughter Erin called to say her water broke and she was on her way to the hospital. Thinking I had plenty of time---I quickly put on a few finishing touches to some projects so that I could drop them off at work for my coworkers on the way out of town. By the time I packed my bags and got on the road one hour and 15 minutes later ...baby brudder (brother) was being born. It was a long 3.5 hour drive to get to Eugene and I arrived around 2 am to give Little Luke some Gwamma lovin'! Erin's actual labor was about 1 hour!

I have been hanging out with Cole these last few days, playing basketball and playing basketball and playing basketball....Cole  loves basketballs and footballs to the extreme LOL! I don't think I have slept so well in ages...he is really whipping  Gwamma in to shape for sure! LOL.

Cole can say a lot of things very clearly, but L's and K's are not in his 2 year old vocabulary yet. When he says Luke, it sounds just like Woot! This could be a knickname that follows Little Luke his whole life. Cole is pretty proud of his "brudder" and even shared his blankey with him.

I will share more pics as I get time to view my favorites! Thanks for stopping in and reading my Proud Gwamma ramblings...I am so tickled to have another baby boy to love!

  6. Congrats, Gramma!!! What adorable little boys. One hour labor - sounds so unfair to some of us. LOL Your Cole sounds just like my 20-month-old Ethan. He can't get enough of balls, whether actual or even on TV. He has a big container from Pottery Barn to house his balls and yet they overflow. He can't say a whole lot yet, but he's been saying "baka-ball" for a while. Such fun they are and you're right, they can and do wear us out. Enjoy!!

  13. Oh Sue, congratulations Gwamma!!! What a beautiful baby is Woot (such a cute nickname) and, of course, Cole. Oh dear me, I get teary eyed. I can't even imagine what it's like, although one day I hope I'll experience this joy for myself. I'm so happy for you! And do share more pix when you can.

  14. What super cute boys...love the eyelashes on Cole esp.! Have fun with the grandbaby! (And one of my brothers [who is now 25] could not say baby when his younger brother was born [he was just shy of two]. He called him "Dinny" and to this day, my mother calls my 23 year old brother "Dinny"!)

  21. I'm one of your faithful blog readers and couldn't be happier for you!!! I LOL when you said your grandson has some letters that are hard to pronounce. My son at 2 yrs. old had his "T" and "F" switched when he was learning to talk. Can you imagine my embarrassment when we passed a construction site and he yelled out with exuberance, "Look!! There's a dump truck!" but replaced that "T" with and "F!" Thankfully, no one else was around! Love your GRANDMA pics, enjoy these precious moments and CONGRATS! - KT in San Jose, CA
