Peanut Butter Crinkles-Rick's Favorite
1 cup of margarine
1 cup of peanut butter(creamy or crunchy)
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 bag of Hersheys Kisses
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Unwrap chocolate kisses-(don't eat them all) and set aside until later-you will need them as soon as the cookies come out of the oven!
Mix first 6 ingredients until fluffy.
Mix the next 4 ingredients together and then mix in to creamy mixture.
Shape in to 1" balls and roll in granulated sugar. (I use a #60 scoop if you have such a thing at home)
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 12-15 minutes(or so the recipe says-I usually cook mine less time- Start watching at 9-10 minutes.)
I use a Silpat (a nonstick rubbery type cooking sheet mat-costs about $20 each but oh so worth every penny) and never have to grease anything or worry about cookies sticking to the cookie sheet either...cookies just slide off these babies! I'll try to remember to include a picture of one of these next time it is ready for action!
Take out of oven and immediately press Hershey kiss into center of cookies.
I usually make a double batch and this makes a lot! These are wonderful eaten when they are warm.
It does take a while for the chocolate kiss to set up, and being impatient and ready to go on to another type cookie, I put these on a cookie sheet, stick them in the refrigerator or freezer. When they are set up, I put them in containers and freeze until time to give them away.

These are my all time favorite Christmas cookies! We call them PB Blossoms though. :)
ReplyDeleteDo you put the cookies back into the oven after the kiss is on? They are sooooooo good that way. Once you press the kiss in, stick 'em back in for two minutes, until the chocolate gets shiny. YUM! This helps the kiss stick to the cookie better too.
MMmmmmmmmm!!! I can almost smell them and taste them:o) You know, this is the best kind of dessert...no calories! Now is the time I am glad I do not live next door...my waistline would be nonexistent.
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me to make a Christmas cookie recipe book with all the recipes you put on your blog. Thanks!!!
Hugs!
Carolyn
