From Courtney's Closet Challenge #36-Parisian Breeze

Mommy's Little Helper

Early! Can you believe this Libby? Here is this week's creation for From Courtney's Closet Challenge. I took my inspiration from the colors in Courtney's cute little shirt (and of course all of the dots too). I am just a polka dot girl!

I also am using the sketch challenge from Verve Stamps Viva La Verve April Week 1 on SCS.
You can find the challenge HERE. The challenge was to use only a sentiment stamp in this sketch.

If you have not tried the Stampin Up Speciality DP, you are really missing out...! It has such wonderful texture and is double sided too. This is my monthly all SU! card. I try to make at least one card that is all SU products to post on a Yahoo group I belong to...so here we go...two days before the end of the month...nothing like waiting till the last minute. I work well under pressure LOL! (or at least I work).

--------------------------------------

Stamps: Celebration set Echoes of Kindness from SU!

Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Parisian Breeze Speciality DP, Choc Chip

Ink: Choc Chip

Misc; EK Success punch(goodness I should have used my SU! scallop punch), circle nesties, choc chip ribbon

I had a heck of a time photographing purple...it just wouldn't come out right..This card is really Elegant Eggplant, Mellow Moss and Brushed Silver...very pretty IRL.The center oval is a layer of silver, mellow moss and eggplant...a little hard to tell from this picture. The flower is embossed with silver SU! powder. The bottom border is punched using my new EK Success punch...they are pretty cool and they punch through SU cardstock so easily!

I love this new little circle sentiment...I just bought it at the Portland stamp convention. It is made by Make An Impression (phone # 800-362-7735)

From Courtney's Closet Challenge #35-Cole and Gwamma

Keep it simple...I took Libby's "keep it simple" inspiration and made this quick 6 x 6 scrapbook page of one of my fave pictures of little Cole's visit this weekend. I love to hold him while he is sleeping...love to listen to him breath and giggle and sometimes talk in his sleep!

I used a sizzix die for the house (hey, close to the house on Courtney's shirt), computer generated the sentiment, so there really is no stamping here...I see I forgot to add the puffs of smoke coming out of the chimney...but I am too tired to run back up and retake the picture...but I will add the three little puffs of smoke later for a finishing touch.

You can find Libby's From Courtney's Closet #35 Inspiration Challenge HERE!

Cardstock is all Stampin Up.

Little Courtney's Inspiration outfit for week 35...I think she is upset at Mommy about something here!

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #29-Comfort and Joy

I don't normally make Christmas cards....especially in March, but I so wanted to use this paper for the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #29.

This Basic Grey Wassail paper is some of the prettiest DP I think I have seen-it was wonderful to add to this card.

Again, I am happy to report that I used another stamp that has never seen ink! Ahhh that feels so good!

I think the HMMC sketch speaks for itself...it would be really hard to make an ugly card with this one!

Stamps: Comfort and Joy House Mouse by Stampabilities, SU sentiment Small Script

Cardstock: DP-Wassail by Basic Grey, SU! retired Cranberry Crisp(I think)

Ink: Cranberry Crisp, Memento Black, Prisma's/OMS, SU old olive marker, copics

3 Clover's Thursday Challenge #5-Use It Up!

This week over at 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge #5 is to Use It Up! Use 2 different papers that you have had in your stash for at least one year!

Well, I have had this in my stash for over a year and it is still one of my favorite DP's! ( I even bought more) For those of you new to my blog, I work at a cherry processing plant in HR, so I always collect cherry stuff!

I finally unearthed my SU! watercolor paper I ordered well over a year ago and promptly lost (hey, this counts as paper over a year old too!) I used my SU! watercolor crayons, H2O's and water pen to color this image. Watercoloring is my favorite medium...but when someone else does it. The delicate layering in watercoloring just makes me happy!

Stop over at Kerry's blog and join in the fun this week!

Stamp: Penny Black Cherry Jubilee 1686K, SU Flexible Phrases-retired

Cardstock: Real Red, Green Galore, DP by Creative Imaginations

Ink: Memento Black (did not work well for watercoloring darn it), SU watercolor crayons and H2O's

Misc: SU green ribbon, circle punches

Card size: 5 x 5

I made this card with the same paper last year.

From Courtney's Closet Challenge #34-Cupcake Fluffles

Lot's of pink going on here! Little Courtney over at From Courtney's Closet Challenge #34 is all decked out in her little fancy PINK outfit. My inspiration came from her pink outfit as well as that little hat she is wearing. As I was explaining it to one of my friends, the only description I could come up with was a dunce hat (so sorry Libby...I know sweet pea is not a dunce). My friend Charla so kindly put the correct description to her hat...a Medieval princess hat! That's it! Now I got it right!

Now, the closest I could come to a Medieval princess hat was this cute Fluffles image that I received from a dear stamping friend! Thanks girl! A birthday hat works for me! This is the first Fluffles image I have ever used and it was fun and quick to color! I think I may have started another addiction.

The image was cut out with a square nestie and I also used my nestie scallop circles and a cuttlebug folder background. I dug out a retired SU! corner punch too. Everything is up on dimensionals so this is a fun card to view in real life! Hmmm...now that I have the picture to post, I think I will add some glitter to this card too!

The little Medieval Princess!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge- Huggin'

I made this cute little card for this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge #40- A sketch.

I love this stamp...it is so versatile...the feathery circle is make by Fiskars and is one of their circle punches...I have had this a long time and got it specifically to use with my feathered friends! It is an easy sketch this week, so I could jump in and make a quick card without having to think too hard!

I punched the feather circle and then chalked it with some SU! chalk just to give it a little color. I then set my feathered friends up on dimensionals on top of the circle. This image was colored with my SU! markers and the grey highlights are Radiant Pearls-Abalone grey. I love the shimmer of this stuff and again, I have had it a long time.

The chicken wire stamp is a retired SU! background stamp.

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #28

This is my manly House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #28 card! ...and what's more "manly" than a good game of poker and ummmmm...and twine LOL?

I finally used this stamp...originally bought for my Mom because she is a card playing fool! She belongs to as many card clubs as she can fit into her day! (and then plays online too!)

And...this is my first all copic colored mouse! (the brown one) I now have 7, yes 7 copics! You can tell I am not jumping in too fast...but boy do I love coloring with them! I'm planning my strategy for my next purchases...hopefully matching the next purchases close to SU! colors so they match my cardstock stash! I will have to do some research on that!

Oh you must visit Mary's blog-My Cards, My passion...(my therapy)!:), she is starting a new Copics Technique Challenge blog. Sounds like a lot of fun (if you have more than 7 LOL). My bloggin buddy Karen, is also on their DT...you go girls! Hey, who knows...maybe they can teach me a thing or two!

Okay, back to my card. I used several different coloring mediums on this card...Prisma's/OMS, SU! markers, and Copics. That seems to be my style...whatever I got goes on the card.

Wow...I finally used these stamps I bought ages ago. Katie Bug Stamps used to come to our regional stamp convention with just the cutest darned creations. They haven't shown for the last few years and boy are they missed! I did find a link to their website, but I am not sure it is still active. I added the link in the credits.

Another week over at Kerry's 3 Clover Thursday Challenge #4, with this week showing a wild cake inspiration picture! Okay...I did say "No" to orange on this challenge card...but wait until you see the other challenge cards...wonderful stuff! I always have a hard time with orange, my brain could just not go with the orange...too tired after a busy week I guess!

From Courtney's Closet Challenge #33-Picture Frame

Ava Grace, my grand niece, 8 months

Isn't Courtney getting good at this modeling thing?

Not much stamping in this From Courtney's Closet Challenge #33 this week! But I did use some more chipboard...all thanks to the push from last week's House Mouse and Friends chipboard challenge (looky here Karen and Carolyn...more chipboard LOL)!!!

I chose to use a paler color scheme and not the BRIGHT color scheme of Courtney's darling outfit. I did find these cute chipboard flowers during my trip to the big city and decided I wanted to make this picture frame as a gift to my little grand niece, Ava. Isn't she sweet? I guess my inspiration went the way of the BIG flowers for this challenge.

The picture frame was purchased from a craft store, covered with this wonderful double sided DP made by Little Yellow Bicycle, designed by Sharon Ann -Baby Safari-Girl Jungle...wow what a long name for a little piece of paper! I painted the edges of the frame with Memories paint and then glued on the DP. I cut out some of the jungle animals and glued them on the frame and added the flowers and that was it.

Oh, I did use my new Technique Tuesday clear alphabet that I bought at the CK Scrapbooking convention this past weekend to add Ava's name to the frame. They worked pretty slick!

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge-chipboard BIA

Stamping time has been at a premium this week, but I managed to get into the craft room and make a QUICK project for this week's House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge. The challenge is to use chipboard somewhere on your creation. WHAT????? Chipboard is really not something I have gotten into, so this was a struggle until I decided to get out my new little Bind It All. I made this little sticky note holder and plan to slip it onto the desk of a very inspirational co-worker that has battled some very serious health issues and always seems to have a positive and sweet disposition...I only hope if it were me, I would be a graceful and calm as she...

I used two 4 inch coasters that I bought from Ellen's store. I covered them with scrumptious Bo Bunny polka dot papers in different colors. I actually bought the paper and ribbon on different occasions and didn't realize they coordinated....how fun is that? I love this paper so much I had to go buy it in every color...so hope you don't get sick of it LOL!

3 Clover's Thursday Challenge #3-Green!

This week's 3 Clover's Thursday Challenge is to use GREEN as the main color of your card and to include 3 embellishments! I am not big on embellishments, so I really had a hard time with this card. I was calling this card my "build a bear" type card...I just started with my image and sort of kept adding "stuff" to it. LOL...one of those type cards.

You all now how I love different types of stamps...so here I picked a stamp from my Winnie the Pooh collection...yes, another collection you have yet to see LOL! In this stamp, Christopher Robinson has just found a 4 leaf clover! Lucky!

If your feeling lucky this week, I hope you will join in with Kerry and the rest of us on this great challenge!

From Courtney's Closet Challenge #32- Jeans!

Yikes.....don't look too close at the stitching on this card...very crooked, but I was too short on time to do over...I just had this idea in my head and just had to go with it!

Here is my card for Libby's weekly From Courtneys Closet Challenge- #32.

I chose to use Courtney's jeans as inspiration this week. Anyone that knows me would know that I prefer jeans and a big warm sweatshirt or fuzzy jacket if given the choice...a fashion plate I am not LOL! I've had this jean DP forever, so I am happy to be digging it out and using some finally.

I dug out a pair of my Levi jeans from the closet and used the pocket as a guide. I don't know if you can read the little red "Levi" tag, but it says "happy". I also added a little lace with my new SU! border punch...gotta make Courtney's inspiration card girlie...I mean really!

The shape of this card was frustrating to photograph, so I finally set it on a frame holder..Viola!

Oh... speaking of Viola...have you read Becca's post on grammar here? Pretty cute.

Little Cupcake's inspiration picture!
