3 Clovers Thursday Challenge 41--So Thankful...Make a Thank You card

What has more red than Christmas?

Well, Elmo of course! If you have been a follower of my blog for a while, you know my grandson, Cole,  loves Elmo. I decide to make these little 3 x 3 thank you cards so that little Cole can send them out as Thank You's after Christmas.(maybe even one to Gwamma...)

Last week Kerry of 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge wrote about a card she was making. It started with something she was determined to use and her card took a life of its own around her obsession to use a certain image, product or paper. Wellllll........ I was determined to use my mega nesties(just had to have them...used them once) to make little cards this time around. Many moons ago, before I started blogging, I always made duplicates of my cards, so I decided late last night I would make a little set of cards. I forgot how much fun it is to line them all up and appreciate the fun of it all! What is it with that anyway...anyone else like to line up their cards???...I know I'm weird LOL!

I did a quick bit of  copic coloring,  but tried more for the Penny Black watercolor look instead of blending.

Okay back to this week's 3 Clover's Thursday Challenge #41...Thank You cards. What an appropriate day to show our Thanks! I hope you enjoy what the team has made for you today and can take the time to go peek at their creations.......... and maybe make one of your own to share! If you upload to SCS please use 3CTC41 or share directly on the blog entry.

I better get running and get my pies made tonight! I want to thank you all for visiting my blog. Thank you to those who take a few extra minutes to  leave comments, it always means so much! Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

3 Clovers Thursday Challenge 39---No RED or GREEN

Happy Holidays!

Where the heck have I been you ask?  This is my busy crafting season and that does not include much stamping unfortunately. I am getting ready to bake cookies and start my annual wood craft or sewing project (see post here for 2008 projects)(past wood projects here and sewing projects here) and also finishing a quilt for my grandson Cole ( a Christmas project I started  last year..hmmmm.)
And then I have to get all my Christmas trees decorated. Now,  I don't even come close to Suzanne Dean...she puts up 10 I think! Crazy girl...I only have 4...

This is my card for this week's 3 Clover's Thursday Challenge. Kerry asked us to make a Christmas card without the standard Christmas colors of red or green.  I chose to use this cute Peanuts stamp and used basic blue and brown.

Doesn't Charlie Brown and Linus look like  they are wearing little Carhartt coats? (that's a brand of brown work clothes for those that aren't familiar with the name).  I glittered the snow to add lots of sparkle. I used a fun sketch for this card...but darned if I can find where it is now...brain cramp! I also used my new little bow maker. It is not a Bow Easy, but a different brand, but it looks exactly like a Bow Easy and only cost $2 in a closeout sale...what a deal! I used Sharon Johnson's Bow Easy tutorial here to figure it out! I am always challenged when it comes to pretty bows, so I used this new little toy and boy am I pleased!

I hope you all can join us this week and make a Christmas/Holiday card without the usual colors of red and green. The DT samples are quite fun this week, so go take a peek and be inspired!

3 Clovers Thursday Challenge 39-Bugs and Birds

Okay...go ask my friend Charla....she knows for many of my first stampin' years I had a real aversion to bugs or butterflies or birds. Don't ask me why...just did. Do you have a type of stamp that you have an odd aversion too? I bet I am not the only one!

Well, over the last few years, and especially since I have started blogging, I have been released! Martha Stewart's butterfly punches and Penny Black's Chickens have opened up a whole new world for me LOL!

This week at 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge, the team was asked to make a card using Birds or Bugs. Well, I can't seriously use a realistic bird or bug...I must use my dear PB crew! I so wanted to add a cute little birthday cake to this card...and in my zillions of stamps, I could not find one that made me happy, so it is what it is!

I had this card in mind when this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge #74 came around...and it fit perfectly..... Song Title/Lyrics!

Bugs and Birds should be an easy challenge to stamp along with...... Let's see what you can do!

Happy Birthday Linda!

Getting Old Is Just A Part Of Life...You Go First!

I made this card for my dear friend Linda's birthday...still needs to get in the mail...

I used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #105 for the layout. The image was gifted but I think it is Rubbernecker . The sentiment is a new one I bought especially for this card! I know my friend is only a wee bit older than me...but hey, a girl's gotta take what she can get!

The birthday girl is cut out and added to the card on dimensionals and her towel and the sentiment are also on dimensionals

Sorry for the short post...it is past my bedtime!

Stamps: Lady is unknown(Rubbernecker?), Sentiment by Art Impressions F-3472

In Loving Memory of Henry Anderson

Sarah Anderson was one of my very first "blogger" friends. She sent me my first copic colored House Mouse card.

Sarah is living a parents worst nightmare...the loss of her 3 year old son Henry. Henry passed away last week from a virus he could not fight. The stamping community is sending their love and support to Sarah in many ways. Pink Cat Studio has started a fundraiser that you can read about here. The proceeds from the sale of this sweet little giraffe digi stamp will go towards the purchase of a memorial tree to be planted in Henry's honor at his favorite zoo.

Please keep Sarah and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #55

Finally! Some stampin' time came my way! Yeah...I made some fun cards yesterday and now I am working on how to edit and resize on my new computer programs. That stuff can be so frustrating for a computer nerd. There are about 5 million ways to do this, it's just remembering how I did it in the first place! I'm getting there. Can't wait to show you everything I made yesterday. I have some fun stuff to share this week!

This card was made for the current House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge. The challenge was aperture...which they explained basically meant a card with a hole in it.(hopefully a hole you put there on purpose) Hey, I thought I could do that pretty easy, and it was! I just used my nestie and VIOLA!

What you are seeing in the top picture is a peek through the circle I cut out with my nestie. I then made a little red nestie frame to go around the hole and added some 'Jenny' doodles LOL! I always think of Jenny Gropp when I get brave enough to add a few dots here and there on my card. I am really not brave enough to doodle too much because I know I will mess up big time.

Jenny really is the Queen of Doodles and has a wonderful tutorial on how she does it (which I read after I made this card-I might have been braver had I read this first) Her doodles are much more fancy schmancy than mine though.

Nothing better than a hot cup of cocoa!

All My By Self

Hey...did you think I got lost? I sort of did...LOL. Just took a wee trip to see my grandson and do a little "tick or tweatin" with my little Mickey Mouse! He had the best time...I think he enjoyed the KNOCK KNOCK on the doors just about as well as the candy. He loved the little bags of M's (M and M's) in his little Elmo bag.

At 2, Cole is becoming very independent. He is trying to dress himself, putting his legs in his shirtsleeves or his feet in his neck opening LOL!!!This image, Sumpin's Wrong- digi from Mo's Digital Pencil Too makes a perfect card to send to his Mama. My, my...Cole is becoming a little boy and growing up so fast!

When his Mama, (my oldest daughter Erin) was his age, she used to always tell me that she wanted to do things "All MY BY SELF"! She did get her wording just a little mixed up, but I knew what she meant! Just another one of the many family sayings she created that has stuck with us for over 30 years LOL!

A few changes this week...

Irina introduced a new Guest Design Team for November and December today on the La La Land blog. Several of the new DT are good stamping friends I have known since my blogging days began, and the others I have gotten to know through the challenges! I am so excited for them. I hope you can take the time to visit and join their PINK challenge this week! I had a fun time working with this GREAT bunch of stampers.

Also, there will be no 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge tomorrow. Our fearless leader Kerry is a little under the weather, so we postponed this week's challenge. Feel better soon Miss Kerry!

....and oh...I bought some blog candy when I was in the big city...keep your eyes peeled...I will be posting soon. I just need to decide what I can part with LOL!

Good night all!
