Linus

I made this card using my Linus Stampabilities stamp that I bought from hmstamps.

I sent this card to little grandson Cole, after he got his first boo-boo. He is learning to pull up on furniture and things and had a crash. Poor peanut. Actually, during harvest, this card would be appropriate for lots of people I know. I happen to love the Peanuts Gang, so you will probably see them on this blog from time to time!

The sentiment actually is a companion stamp to one of my new House Mouse of the month stamps, but it seemed to work so well with little Linus this time around.

Stamps: Linus F1065, Sentiment One Of Those Days DR1097 both made by Stampabilities and purchased at hmstamps.com

Cardstock: Navy, Real Red, Bashful Blue, GP White.

Misc: swiss dots cuttlebug folder, Su red striped ribbon, misc heart brads, dimensionals, square nestabilities, SU markers, colored with prisma's

Two Peas In a Pod---TWINS!

I made this card for my niece, who recently had twin boys.

I got these stamps from Alota Rubberstamps. They also have the cute bee stamps!
The sentiment stamp I bought at the scrapbooking convention and I am not sure who makes it and I can't find it right now...I think it was made my A Muse.

I used misc DP as well as green galore, red and bashful blue SU cardstock, red pin dot ribbon and my nesties and cuttlebug swiss dot folder as well.

A Bad Day Gone Good Pick Me Up from Heidi

After a rough day at work on Monday, I came home to this wonderful Heidi surprise! I don't know how she does it, but her stamping just makes me darn happy! My son thinks I'm weird when I open her cards and packages because I always get so excited. Yes, I guess I am weird LOL!

Besides being so handy, it just makes me smile. That flying frog and the saying she put with it tickle my funny bone...and I really don't think Heidi knows how often I "frogget" things, but I have already put my gift into action and it has already helped me to remember some things!

Heidi used a clear picture frame and decorated it up with some sparkly DP (the white stripes on the designer paper are glittery) and some green polka dot ribbon at the top too.

Heidi tells me she is getting closer to unveiling her very own blog, so keep watching for the announcement!

"Mucho Gracias" again Heidi!

Dannie's Origami Box

Charla and I made these boxes a while back on a slow Sunday afternoon. They are great to have on hand for a quick gift-but do take a while to fold. This is a good TV watching project. These are pretty basic...but you could embellish with all kinds of fun things!

Dannie's Designs has a video tutorial here.

I had to watch it a couple of times LOL! Enjoy!

From Courtney's Closet Weekly Challenge

Okay Libby...here is my card. Boy did I struggle with this challenge. When I started, I had a whole different plan of what I wanted...don't ask me where this came from...desperation I think LOL! I chose to use the orange gingham and the buttons for my inspiration of this weeks From Courtney's Closet Challenge (FCCC)...and the fruit...but guess what...I couldn't find my new Tart and Tangy set...finally gave up and went this direction. I used this Suzy Zoo image that my daughter had stamped for me several years ago..it was just waiting to used! I also wanted to use my baby set that had the little baby with the curl on the top of the baby head too...Little Courtney had such a cute "do" in her challenge picture.

Stamps: Suzy Zoo, SU retired background stamp and SU sentiment
Misc: Cuttlebug folder, misc ribbon, SU buttons, prisma's
Cardstock: SU Only Orange, GP White

Oh, and yes, I found my fruit set after I was done with this card! Go figure......

Cherry Harvest is Here!

Cherry Harvest officially started this weekend with the first pack of fresh cherries! Yummy!
These are cards I made previously, but thought I would post in honor of harvest.

Besides the wonderful House Mouse Image and Sentiment, I used some cherry ribbon I got at JoAnn's and some bling that was maybe(?) Heidi Swapp? I can't remember the name sorry.
The paper is my all out favorite made my Creative Imaginations.
I used Stampin Up real red and green galore cardstock as well. I colored with prisma's...oh got to run to work now!

Look for the Oregon Cherries!

Heidi's puzzle card

This great puzzle was the surprise inside that little box. Isn't this just the best? Heidi said she stamped with StazOn and colored and then sealed the completed image. Both sets of wings are full of glitter...don't you want to make one now?

Grandma's 4th of July Jello Salad

The July Monthly Cookbook page is done! Designed again by the amazing Jill McHale of the Picture Patch. (watch for her blog coming soon!)

Oh talk about a tasty salad...YUMMY! Now, I am not a big fan of anything cherry except maybe cherry lifesavers...but this was truly a tangy jello and would be perfect for your 4th of July get together. (can you believe that I work at a cherry food processing plant at that!) I love FRESH cherries, so I guess I am spoiled! And yes, the cherries should be rolling into the plant any day now. Anyway, this salad has a great zing to it that is delicious!

My longtime stamping buddy and dear friend Charla, takes this class with me. Of course this was the class that Charla had to miss...always when there are lots of little pieces to either thread or tear or piece or whatever...LOL That meant I had to make mine and hers too! I was the lone scrapper threading all those darn buttons....I always tell her she owes me one after scrapping a page like this! (but she tells me the same thing when I have to be absent hehe)

Hope you enjoy!

Heidi's ribbon card

Another wonderful Heidi card! This is made with the Stampin Up set Embrace Life. I love the colors she used and so many details...looky for your self! Lots of dimension...the flowers on the front are on dimensionals also. The inside ribbon and flower pop out at you when you open the card!

This card was made from a tutorial off of the Hero Arts site here.

I have another wonderful Heidi project to show this week as soon as I can "get it together" (literally) as well as a new cookbook scrap page coming your way...Enjoy.

Thanks Stamping Soul Sister...and now off to walk the dog!

From Courtney's Closet Challenge #4

I made this card for my second From Courtney's Closet Challenge (#4). I chose to focus on the flower on her outfit and the fact that she is such a sweet little baby girl!

The flower, stem, leaves as well as the sentiment are on dimensionals also. After I took this picture I decided it would have been nice to have some paper piercing on it, but too late tonight! Time for this girl to head off to bed!

Stamps: Stampin' Up So Much (the background flower), Very Punny for the sentiment, Stampabilities House Mouse Naptime.

Cardstock: Celery,Pink and misc DP

Ink: celery and black, chalk on stem and leaves, prismas

Misc: Signo pen, Large and Small SU oval punches, Creative Memories circle cutter(so I could let the tail to "hang out" LOL), Mega scallop punch, fancy scissors to cut the curvy stem, SU 5 petal flower punch (to make the leaves) whew that's a lot of punches

Another Heidi fun fold RAK!

Heidi sent this card to me a while back. It has lots of fun little details, down to the wonderfully colored Fluffles image. It stays shut with the little blue clip on the side. When it opens (in the picture above) it has a tiny little envelope holding a surprise for me..it was full of fun brads! The yellow cardstock is also a flap that opens up to reveal her message to me.

This very colorful card has a base measuring 4 1/2 x 4 1/2. The light green measures 4 x 4 and the yellow measures 3 1/2 x 3/1/2 (this piece has a smaller 3 inch matting of DP. She added lots of white dots to accent the edges.

Look forward to a couple NEAT Heidi creations coming up next! Also, Heidi will be starting her own blog soon...I can't wait. Watch for an announcement here.

Heidi's House Mouse gate card

Oh boy do I have some good Heidi cards to share with you in the next week! Heidi is my stamping soul sister back east(I live in Oregon and Heidi in Illinois). We share a love of fun or unusual folds for our cards. We met through our mutual addiction to House Mouse stamps! This is a "Heidi Special" gate card. Aren't these little meeces cute? One of these days I am going to make one of these! I especially like the little feet she drew in on the bird! A master of detail!

Wait until you see the "cards" she has sent me in the last month and especially the wonderful one I received in the mail today. Thanks so much Heidi...I love them all!

This is a card I made from a video tutorial from Dannie's Designs. You can watch it here.
It didn't take that long. I cut all the paper to her specifications and then watched the video. It went together so quick! I want to make a "girl" one next! (and NO my credit card doesn't go with the card LOL)

I used close to cocoa cardstock and a retired SU sentiment. Paper pierced the outside edging and used chocolate chip marker to accent the "stitching". I used a fiskars texture plate to give the paper a leather look. I am going to put baby pics of my new grandson in this and send it to my son-in-law for his first official Father's Day!

I also drew the floor line in.

This is the Art Impression set that you buy the door separately and then buy accessory stamps by the month. This set is June/July and includes fishing stamps as well as 4th of July additions.

Stamps: Art Impression Clear door and accessory set for June/July
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, black and misc DP for matting
Misc: copper brad for doorknob, prisma's,

H and M Log Cabin Card for Dad

I made this card for my Dad for Father's Day. The set is from H and M Stamps. My Dad actually built a log cabin that we use for family get togethers, so I think he will appreciate this one!

I used a sizzix die to cut the trees and chalked them up a wee bit. The kraft cardstock I used for the ground I put through my big shot with a fiskars texture plate and chalked up with some brown here and there. I cut open the door as well as put curtains in the window just like his cabin has. A couple of the trees are on dimensionals as well as the Dad's Cabin sign. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I stamped the cabin and the outhouse on some misc DP and colored them a little with my prisma pencils.

I made this card for Libby's Little Addiction challenge. It is her weekly "From Courtney's Closet" challenge. (FCCC#3) It is based on her little girls outfit. I think this is such a cute idea.

I didn't manage to get in any blue...but this was my first challenge and I wanted to use green :). I used some pink grid DP and stamped cherries in Mellow Moss and Rose Romance randomly all over. I used my new Martha Stewart scallop punch for the white lace strip! Her punches work so nice!

Ink: Rose Romance, Mellow Moss
Misc: Nesties, Martha Stewart Punch, mellow moss ribbon and dots and dashes ribbon from Michaels, signo pen

Tart and Tangy Birthday Treats

A quick birthday card and birthday gift for my friend and coworker, Linda E! I used SU real red and old olive cardstock as well as Georgia Pacific white cardstock...(we call it Wallmart White because that is where we have to buy it) I used my new Tart and Tangy stamp set (Stampin Up!) as well as some misc DP with cherries on it. The jar was purchased at IKEA and was priced at 4 for $2.99! These are great for quick gifts.
The jar can sit straight up or also tilts. Both Linda and I work at Oregon Cherry Growers, so this set is so appropriate! I love anything with cherries on it!

I sent my red scallop punch through my swiss dots cuttlebug folder to give it some texture, and used my nestabilities for the larger circle and olive scallop. I used my 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 SU punches also. The ribbon is also SU. Wow, what nice texture and feel it has.

I have a few new posts coming your way...one with my circle word made into a card...now to try to remember how I did it again LOL...It will come back to me Charla.
